MIRPURKHAS Feb 12. Acute shortage of water has been prevailed from 8 districts to 18 districts of Sindh province causing devastation of wheat, sugar cane, sunflower, vegetables and other crops cultivated over a cror acre. This was stated by Javed Ahmed Junejo, chairman farmer organization council FOC Sindh, while talking to newsmen here on Friday at local press club. He said that after Nara canal, other canals of Sukkur barrage including Ghotki canal and left bank Badin canal are facing acute shortage of water while they and their distributaries and minors had already been handed over to farmer organizations. He said that 560 distributaries have been affected of acute shortage of water that are being run under Sindh irrigation and drainage authority SIDA. He said that Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Sanghar, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Tandoallahyar, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Badin, Tando Mohammad Khan and other districts are adversely affecting owing scarcity of water. He said that water shortage crisis has been deepened as result in future crisis of shortage of flour, vegetables etc might be occurred in Sindh . He accused that under a deep conspiracy agriculture of Sindh is being devastated to create anarchy and law and order problem. He said that there is required 45000 cusec water flow in Sukkur barrage but only 17000 cusec water is being supplied that is insufficient for drinking purpose also . He claimed that chairmen farmer organization councils of above three canals were paid RS 15 crors as Aabyana (water tax) and 75 crors as agriculture tax etc. He deplored that growers have been suffered big losses due to acute shortage of water and destroying of their standed crops. He said that all abadgars have decided not to pay water tax and agriculture tax to the government. He demanded the President Asif Ali Zardari, prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and other authorities to take immediately take notice , ensure supply of required quantity of water to save the crops of this region otherwise abadgars would suffered heavy losses. 

MIRPURKHAS Feb 12. General Secretary of PPP district Mirpurkhas Tharo Khan Panhwer has been suspended by president PPP Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah following complaint of Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani , divisional president PPP Mirpurkhas and federal minister for inter provincial relations against him . PPP sources informed to this correspondent that federal minister Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani had been complained to Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh chief minister and president PPP Sindh that Tharo Khan Panhwer, general secretary of PPP district Mirpurkhas had been misbehaved with him after which action was taken in this regard. This matter was occurred after the murder of Ali Akbar Panhwer, senior worker of PPP Mirpurkhas very close to federal minister and divisional president Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani. It may be recalled that a week back in night, unknown armed assailants had opened indiscriminate firing in target killing incident at Gulshan Haider as result Ali Akbar Panhwer was died of serious bullet wounds at the spot while Aijaz Soomro, district president PPP cultural wing was seriously injured. When they were being shifted to emergency of civil hospital Mirpurkhas, a message was sent to notables, PPP party office bearers and district officers from the mobile of injured Aijaz Soomro as both had suffered bullet injuries and two persons of PPP district level were involved in murderous attack. Injured Aijaz Soomro was referred to LMUH Hyderabad where he was operated by surgeons and was still admitted in the hospital at Hyderabad. Murder case of this incident was lodged with town police station on the complaint of Asghar Panhwer, little brother of deceased Ali Akbar Panhwer after three days against two unknown armed assailants following discussion in party leaders on provincial level. It may be recalled that about a year back, on the complaint and being proved regarding getting over a dozen government job to family of deceased Ali Akbar Panhwer and selling of provided jobs by Haji Noor Hassan Chandio, ex district president PPP Mirpurkhas, Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had been suspended and replaced the district president Haji Noor Hassan Chandio and deceased Ali Akbar panhwer from office of divisional Rabita secretary , while divisional president PPP youths wing Mirpurkhas Tharo Khan Panhwer was replaced and appointed as general secretary of PPP district Mirpurkhas . While MNA Mir Munawar Ali Talpure was appointed as district president PPP Mirpurkhas. These changes of office bearers in the PPP district Mirpurkhas created two factions in the party as secretly a faction was being run by divisional president PPP Mirpurkhas Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani and another faction was being run  by MNA Mir Munawar Ali Talpure. Sources said that workers and office bearers on union council levels had welcomed the replacing of ex district president Haji Noor Hassan Chandio and divisional Rabita secretary deceased Ali Akbar Panhwer and had expressed their happiness over the appointment of Tharo Khan Panhwer as general secretary district Mirpurkhas as he belong to lower class and worker class and had been emerged on district level following his great services and sacrifices for party. 

MIRPURKHAS Feb 12. Compliancing the orders of Inspector explosives of ministry of industries and production, department of explosives, circle office Karachi , deputy district officer DDO revenue Mirpurkhas taluka Ammara Aamir Khatak has visited the 6 filling stations along with police and suspended their services including storage and sale of petroleum products here on Friday, while she has been sought the owners or representatives of the above 6 filling stations in his office tomorrow on Saturday along with relevant records . Report said that Mian Rauf Ali , inspector explosives of ministry of industries and production, department of explosives , circle office Karachi had been cancelled the licenses of petrol storage of 6 filling stations of the Mirpurkhas taluka . Official sources said that above inspector had directed in a letter to DCO Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon to ensure sealing of the premises of 6 filling stations, stoppage of supply , storage and sale of petroleum products and intimate also last meter reading of DP and HSD dispensing units. He further said that if those filling stations were desired restoration of their licenses should adopt the proper procedure as laid down in the policy/regulation and petroleum rules 1937. Those filling stations whose licenses have been cancelled are M/s Madina filling station situated at Mirwah Digri road, M/s Raja filling station situated at railway station Mirpurkhas , M/s Mirwah filling station near chowk Amsabad, Deh Mirwah , taluka Mirpurkhas, M/s Yamin filling station situated at Bhansinghabad , Iqbal road Mirpurkhas, 3 mile filling station situated at Mirpurkhas Mirwah road, taluka Mirpurkhas and M/s Shaikh Mohammad Usman filling station situated at Jameel Shaheed road Mirpurkhas .When contacted DDO revenue Mirpurkhas taluka Ammara Aamir Khatak told that representative of Shell company have talked with her on telephone and assured that licenses of their Shell company’s filling stations have been restored and sending relevant records in her office. She said that if their documents would be correct and restoration of licenses she will allow them to resume their services.
