MIRPURKHAS Sept 8. World literacy day was also observed here as a rally was taken out by education department Mirpurkhas here on Tuesday from government Modal high school Mirpurkhas to local press club. Participators led by EDO education Abdul Majeed Hur, carried banners and placards, marched through main roads and reached at local press club. Different slogans including common education, education for all, creating awareness for education in the people and increasing the literacy rate were written on the banners and placards. Officers of education department including Jaleel Lashari, Kamla Devi, district officers, NGOs, UNICEF, SEVAPAK, NCHD, teachers and students participated in the rally. On this occasion EDO education Majeed Hur and others urged the parents to send their children to schools for getting education and added that we all should be united to work to increase the literacy ratio in the country.

MIRPURKHAS Sept 8. Dr Ameer Ahmed Shaikh has been taken over the charge as DIG Mirpurkhas zone here after the transfer of ex DIG Mirprukhas Mushtaque Maher here on Monday. It may be recalled that in past DR Ameer Ahmed Shaikh had also been services as DPO Mirpurkhas and DPO Sanghar in past. DPO Mirpurkhas Muneer Ahmed Shaikh and DCO Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon and other officers of defunct Mirpurkhas division here on Tuesday have called on him in his office and discuss the law and order situation of the district Mirpurkhas as well as political situation.

MIRPURKHAS Sept 8. Haji Mohammad Yousuf Gaya , founder of Gaya group has said that Gulistan e Mazoreen center Mirpurkhas is paying great services for the disable persons including women and added that he has been impressed of its administration that is comprising also on disable persons and they were providing different training of skills , English speaking classes, computer training, handy crafts etc without any discrimination. He was speaking as chief guest at the ceremony of cloth suits and Eid gifts distribution held here on Tuesday at Gulistan e Mazoreen center Mirpurkhas. He further said that Gaya trust will support the disable persons and their institutions without any discrimination. He appealed the Philanthropists to come forward and help of the disables and needy people particularly on occasion of Ramzan and Eidul Fitre. Javed Malik, president of the center presented the efficiency report of the center and told that his center is providing the tri cycles to the disables without any discrimination free of cost. General Secretary Lal Baloch and Treasurer Malik Qamaruddin also spoke the ceremony. Later Haji Mohammad Yousuf Gaya has distributed 200 cloth suits among the 200 disables including women and RS 200 to each disables as Eid gift.

MIRPURKHAS Sept 7. District administration Mirpurkhas has been caught corruption of the flour mills supplying the subsidized flour bags for distribution among the poor people including women as hundreds of flour bags (10 kilograms per bag) were being supplied short or less by the flour mills in the district. Report said that DDO revenue Mirpurkhas Ammara Aamir Khattak had detected the corruption when she found short supply of flour bags in taluka Mirpurkhas against its quota by Noor Shah Flour mill. She carried out raid and found absent the food inspector Nazeer Ahmed Soomro, who was deployed there to check the quality of the flour and sending the correct quantity of the flour bags and she also found that short supply of the bags was being made from the flour mill. She submitted her report to DCO Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon who suspended the above food inspector and ordered the inquiry which was conducted by revenue officers and officers of fooddepartment Mirpurkhas while the inquiry report revealed that hundreds of bags were being provided short or less for distribution by the flour mills including Noor Shah flour mill, Memon flour mill, Siddique flour mill, Al- Saeed flour mill , Sindhri flour mill and Chundija flour mill in the district . DCO Mirpurkhas took serious notice and forced the above flour mills to provide correct quantity of flour bags according to wheat quota being provided to the flour mills by the food department Mirpurkhas and also provide the flour bags of 12 days that had been short by the flour mills. Now 139 flour bags have been increased daily in the quota of taluka Mirpurkhas as total 1739 flour bags. On Monday, flour bags were distributed among the poors at villages Bughio farm, Tarani farm, Ali Hassan Shah and Kak Bunglow.

MIRPURKHAS Sept 7. Harvesting of new chili crop has begun in the Mirpurkhas and Umerkot districts as new chili crop was arriving in the chili markets at Kunri, Jhuddo etc. Report said that chili crop was sowed at about 70000 to 80000 acres in the province while its main areas of cultivation are Umerkot and Mirpurkhas districts. Its harvesting has been started after the rainfall here and growers were also sending it to the chili markets including Kunri market that is the biggest chili market of the country. Mostly red chili (Dandi cut or Longi) was sowed in this region that is unique and best quality of chili in the world. Report said that 50 to 100 chili bags of new crop were arriving daily in Kunri market and few weeks ago its rate was At RS 4500 per maund however recently its rate has been decreased at RS 4200 per maund. When contacted Mian Mohammad Saleem, president red chili growers association said that due to recent rainfall, chili crop was damagedat various places while its first fruit was lost due to rainfall , however, he added that now harvesting is continued with full swing in the region. He advised the Chili growers to struggle to decrease the moisture 8 to 9 percent in the chili crop to control the Aflatoxin (fungus) by improving the process of plucking and drying the crop. He said that different experiments to remove the Aflatoxin from chili crop are continued with the help of private company at his farm land and after successful experiments he will spread that strategy among the chili growers and chili exporters.
MIRPURKHAS Sept 6. People are facing great hardships due to power outages frequently even at the time of Iftar and Sehri as load shedding is continued for 8 to 10 hours daily in the hesco Mirpurkhas division. People are experiencing long power outages causing difficulties to the people as well as industries and businesses. Power supply was suspended at the time of Iftar and Sehri also as business activities are affecting adversely as Eid buying was continued by the people including women and children. Indoor patients are suffering also in government hospitals including civil hospital Mirpurkhas. Sewerage system and water supply system of taluka municipal administrations are also affecting as result water shortage created in various areas of the city and other town. Function of cotton factories, flour mills, oil spellers, chaki, ice factories and other industries are affecting due to frequent power off. Talking to this correspondent citizen M. Arif Khan,Furqan Ahmed, Aijaz Panhwer and others strongly condemned the hesco officials for long power outages and power failure at the time of Iftar and Sehri. They said that government had announced that load shedding will not be made at the time of Iftar and Sehri but hesco officials are violating of that announcement as power outages continued even at the time of Iftar and Sehri. They accused that early morning at 4.30 AM power failure occurred and power supply was restored at 6.30 PM as result citizens faced hardships to make Sehri. They demanded the hesco chief to take immediate notice and ensure proper supply of power without any interval even at the time of Iftar and Sehri. When contacted the office of XEN hesco Mirpurkhas but no officer was available for giving his comments.

MIRPURKHAS Sept 6. A robber was arrested by police and citizens after chasing him while his two accomplices managed to escape from the Jamnadas colony here on Sunday. Report said that a robber Ashique Shah with arms entered forcibly into the house of Khushhall Das while his two accomplices Asif Baloch and Kashif Baloch were standed outside the house that robber Ashique Shah held hostages to the inmates on gun point but few inmates suddenly made hue and cry on which a constable of 15 Madadgar police Nadeem Ajmeri , passing from there stopped and area people also gathered there during this heavy contingents of police were also called . Seeing the police robber Ashique Shah tried to escape from there but police and area people ran behind him and caught him with his pistol. Town police have lodged the case against the robber Ashique Shah and his two above accomplices who had been escaped from the spot. Police were interrogating with the arrested robber andconducting the raids for nabbing his escaped accomplices.

MIRPURKHAS Sept 6. Defence day was celebrated here also on Sunday as on behalf of Tanzeem Shuhda e Afwaj Pakistan Mirpurkhas, ceremony was held at Shuhda e graveyard Satellite town in the president ship of Mohammad Yaseen Chohan while Mirza Masroor Baig was the chief guest. Speakers on this occasions paid rich tribute to the martyrds military officials who had given their live sacrifices in the battle of 1965. Those presented tribute Mirza Masroor Baig, Mohammad Yaseen Chohan, Saeed Ahmed Hashmi, Mohamamd Hassan Mahir Ajmeri, Rasheedullah Mansoori, etc. later they laid flower wreaths on the grave of Military Martyrds and performed Fateha Khawani. In another ceremony, Group warden B civil defence Mirpurkhas Khalilullah Khan, deputy group warden Murad Ali , Hakeem Syed Iftikhar Ali , Samiullah Khan, Tehseen Ahmed Khan and others have paid rich tributed to the great sacrifices of Military Martyrds of 1965 and performed Fateha Khwani at their graves.

MIRPURKHAS Sept 4. Chairman Sindh Tarraqi Passand Party Dr Qadir Magsi has demanded the impartial accountability through independent judicial commission of all the rulers, generals and establishment since 1947 to up till now. He was speaking at a press conference here on Thursday night. He further said that not only Pervez Musharraf , cases be lodged against General Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, Akhtar Abdul Rehman and General Ziaul Haq and recovered the looted wealth of the nation from their heirs also . He urged the authorities to arrest the Pervez Musharraf and produce him in the court in charges of massacres in Balochistan and Lal Masjid, murders of Nawab Akbar Bugti and Benazeer Bhutto. In reply few questions he said that present government is implementing on the policies of Pervez Musharraf. He said that nation is disturbed due to imposing different taxes and price hike while rulers are not reducing their expenses. He said that he is against the MQM butall Urdu speaking are his brothers. He expressing that government is talking about reconciliation then it should get rid to the people of Jacobabad, Sukkur and Shikarpur from growing crime by appointing few criminals as minister and advisors as rulers are already implementing on this policy.


MIRPURKHAS Sept 4. Scores of office bearers and workers of Jamaat e Islami Mirpurkhas have held protest demonstration here on Friday after Jumma prayer to protest against the recent increase in petrol price, unemployment and price hike. Protesters led by Ameer JI Mirpurkhas Zafar Iqbal Mujahid, carried banners and placards raised slogans against the government and demanded the authorities to take notice of increase in petrol price, unemployment and price hike. Speaking at the protesters Zafar Iqbal Mujahid said that masses were already disturbed due to increase in prices of sugar and flour but government without any cause fell down a heavy petrol bomb on the masses as result a new move will come of hike and other things will be adversely affected. He accused that nation had become begger due to fail policies of rulers. He deplored that elderly people, women and children are standing in queues as beggers for acquiring the flour and sugar even they werefacing also baton charge. He alleged that rulers are expensing millions of rupees for going abroad while in Pakistan masses are deprived of subsidized sugar and flour. He demanded the supreme court of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of price hike and increase in petrol price and take stern legal action against those disturbing the innocent masses. Azizur Rehman also spoke the protesters.


MIRPURKHAS Sept 4. Less quantity of subsidized flour bags were being provided to the people including women through flour stalls in the city and other areas of the district amidst disturbance of the people while only revenue officials are distributing the bags at the stalls. There are complaints of less security arrangements at the stalls as only three to five constables and a lady constable are deployed at the stall to control the thousands of people including women. People complained to this scribe that police personnels and political workers had become the mafia getting forcibly the flour bags from the distributors. They urged the authorities to increase the sufficient quantity of flour bags for distribution among the poors. Owing to negligence of food department officials, revenue officials had been deployed also at Noor Shah Flour mill that is supplying the flour bags to the stalls of taluka Mirpurkhas for checking the quality and packaging the bagsand sending them to the stalls in security. Meanwhile, DCO Mirpurkhas has directed the concerned officers to provide the flour bags from flour mills according to quota of Sindh government sothat flour at RS 10 per kilogramme might be provided to the poors. Presiding over a meeting of officers of food department and owners of flour mills held here on Friday. He asked the officials to make better arrangements for subsidized flour and provide also adequate security to the all flour stalls.

MIRPURKHAS Aug 2. Hundreds of residents of Gulshan colony , Satellite town have held protest demonstration here on Tuesday night at Chandni chowk to protest against negligence of hesco officials as result inmates of a house were fortunately escaped while two buffalow were electrocuted after falling the 11000 KV high tension wires. While power supply to hesco Satellite town sub division remained closed for seven hours. Report said that wires of high tension line 11000 KV were crossing from upper side of a house of Gulshan colony that suddenly few wires broke and fell down as result two buffalos were electrocuted while fortunately inmates of that house remained safe. Residents of the colony gathered and staged protest demonstration at Chandni chowk due to negligence of the officials of Hesco Satellite town sub division. Enraged protesters led by Riaz Jalbani burnt the old tyres at the main roads as result traffic was suspended at Mirwah road for two hours.Protesters raised slogans against the hesco officials. Hesco officials came there to repair the broken wires were also manhandled by the protesters. However, heavy contingents of police present there intervened and save the hesco officials who started their repair work in protection of police. Protesters told the newsmen that residents had complained various times to concerned hesco authorities for replacement of the high tension wires from the house but authorities did not give attention even few months back, a resident had been electrocuted when he was climbing at the roof of his house during this he was touched with high tension wires passing across his house. They demanded the hesco chief to order an impartial inquiry into this matter and punish the responsible officials. Later, the protesters were dispersed after the assurance of police to repair the broken wires and restoration of the power supply. Report added that after seven hours, power supplywas restored in Satellite town area.

MIRPURKHAS Sept 2. Water supply is not receiving in different parts of the city causing great difficulties to the citizens. Report said that citizens of Ayub Nagar, Adam town, Khad Plot, Gharibabad, Khari quarter , P.M colony and others localities are deprived of water supply for last few months causing great hardships to the citizens . Ex councilors and local leaders of Pakistan Muslim league functional Basheer Ahmed , Saeed Hashmi , Nisar Ahmed Siddique and others told the newsmen that citizens of above localities are disturbed and demanded the district administration and taluka nazim Mirpurkhas to immediately ensure water supply to their areas without any delay . They said that concerned officials should not disturb the citizens even in Ramzan month. They deplored that taluka nazim Mirpurkhas Ghulam Dastageer Kamali had promised to supply the water in above areas but his promise was not yet fulfilled and citizens are bringing the drinking water fromfar flung areas and also getting water from hand pumps. They warned that if the water supply was not restored to above areas then people would be compelled to hold protest demonstration against the TMA Mirpurkhas.
