MIRPURKHAS Dec 14. Workers and office bearers of Pakistan Hydro electric central labor union Mirpurkhas division have observed pen down strike here on Wednesday and also closed their offices in protest against government decision to remove Pepco as result Hesco consumers faced hardships. While workers and office bearers also took out protest rally from railway station roundabout, led by divisional chairman Akbar Khan Leghari and general secretary Yousuf Soomro, carrying banners and placards marched through main roads. They raised also slogans in support of their demands. They reached at local press club and staged also sit in at Hyderabad Mirpurkhas road. Addressing at the protesters leaders Akbar Khan Leghari, Malik Abdul Kareem and Shahid Kazmi strongly condemned the government decision to remove the Pepco. They said that first of all government had removed the Wapda and then formed PEPCO but now again it wanted to remove it , however now employees would not allow the government to remove Pepco . They accused that government had already been failed due to its wrong policies as result various important profited departments of the country had also been destroyed like Railway department. They demanded the government to immediately withdraw its decision in the benefit of common people otherwise they would be compelled to close power supply in the country.

MIRPURKHAS Dec 14. Protest rally of abadgars of Kandiari, Sindhri, and Mirpurkhas was reached here on Wednesday in front of local press club that was started from Kandiari town, district Sanghar, in which hundreds of abadgars participated. Human rights organizations, political parties, and social organizations also joined the protest rally at Mirpurkhas. Led by landlords Aqeel Ahmed Wassan, Faqeer Mohammad Dawood Rajar, Manghan Halepota and Sardar Taj Mohammad Bhurgari, carrying banners and placards demanding the government to resolve the basic grievances of the flood affected abadgars. Talking to media men, protesters strongly condemned the government for its failure to drain out the stagnant flood water from 4 union councils of taluka Sindhri as result still over 25000 acres of agriculture land were inundated under 3 to 4 feet rainy water. They added that mostly abadgars had been deprived of sowing wheat crop. They lamented that due to heavy rainfall and flood condition abadgars had been suffered big losses as their crops had been devastated even their houses were destroyed and cattle head were died of diseases. They regretted that now banks were forcing to flood affected abadgars to pay their agriculture loans while government had already been announced calamity hit districts under which loan recovery was off even loans and their interest were waived off by banks . They accused that officials of Zarri Tarraqiati bank and other commercial banks were disturbing the rain hit growers for immediately payment of agriculture loan. They urged the government to stop the bank officials from forcing the rain hit growers and immediately waive off their agriculture loans with interests. They complained that insufficient quantity of wheat seed as 10 kilogrammes per acre was being provided to the grower against the government policies while that was insufficient for sowing and revenue department should provide proper quantity of wheat seed to growers under government policies. They further said that banks were not also paying them insurance money of their crop despite destroying the whole crop. They demanded the president Asif Ali Zardari, prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Sindh chief minister and other authorities to take immediate notice into this matter, resolve their above grievances without any delay otherwise they would be compelled to launch massive protest campaign against the government.

MIRPURKHAS Dec 5. A minor girl was crushed to death by a speedy unknown car at Umerkot Mirpurkhas road near village Moulvi Siddique Panhwer, one kilometer away from the city here on Monday. Report said that Ms Rani d/o Premchand Meghwar was crossing the main Umerkot Mirpurkhas road that a speedy car hit her as result she sustained head injuries and died on the spot after some time. While the involved unknown car fled away from the spot after this incident. The body of the victim girl was brought at civil hospital for legal formality.



MIRPURKHAS Dec 5. Emergency has been declared by commissioner Mirpurkhas in all the civil hospitals of Mirpurkhas division due to Ashura here on Monday, while police control room to monitor the Tazia and mourn processions with the help of CCTV cameras has been setup in Municipal complex building that was inaugurated by SSP Mirpurkhas Riaz Ahmed Soomro here on Monday , while Commissioner Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon was also present on this occasion. Talking to media men SSP Riaz Ahmed Soomro told that 15 sensitive areas were declared in the district that were being monitored with the help of CCTV cameras including Azakhana Zohra Chaki Para, Shrine Makhan Shah, Mirwah road, M.A.Jinnah road, Gurdwara Building, Sessions court, post office chowk, station road, Market chowk, Madina Masjid chowk, Sindhri road, Habib bank main branch, National bank Municipal Branch, state life building etc. He said that 15 TV and wireless bases were installed in the control room which emergency telephone number was 9290196. While he added that about 30 police staff will pay their duties round the clock in the control room . He told that additional police personnel had also been sought here from other districts to control the situation. He said that strict security arrangements were made in the district on this occasion as checking of any person was being made at Imam Bargahs and at sensitive areas of the district.
 
MIRPURKHAS Dec 5. Commissioner Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon has said that rehabilitation work of flood affected people has been started in the district Mirpurkhas as revenue officials were busy to distribute Blanket, Coverlet and Rally among the rain hit people in all six talukas of the district including Mirpurkhas, Sindhri, Hussain Bux Mari, Digri, Jhuddo and Kot Ghulam Mohammad. Talking to media men here on Monday he said that we had been received sufficient quantity of above things from government for distribution and those had been divided among the all talukas of the district for distribution among the flood affected people. He further said that 4 union councils of taluka Sindhri and rural areas of the taluka Jhuddo were still submerged under flood water and due to more than grievances of the flood affected people of those areas, we have been increased the quota of them including ration and other goods including blankets, Coverlet and rally than other talukas.

MIRPURKHAS July 21. District police officer Mirpurkhas Mohammad Riaz Soomro has said that moral of police raises by giving live sacrifices by brave police personnels during encounter with criminals. He was speaking at the distribution of cheques ceremony, of  RS 20 lakhs each to vidows of police constables Mohammad Yousuf and Makan Lal who were killed during encounter with dacoits in the limit of Digri police station a year back while the dacoits were looting the passenger coach, held here on Thursday at DPO office Mirpurkhas. He said that provincial police officer has provided this grant money for deceased constables’ families. He said that we should fulfill our duty with sincerity, honestly and with spirit sothat crimes might be eliminated. He further said that a true brave police officer provides the protection to the masses. He said that brave youths, constable Mohammad Yousuf and Makan Lal had made encounter with dacoits bravely and sacrificed their lives to provide protection to the passengers of coach .

MIRPURKHAS July 21. Ms Reshma, 10, d/o Abdul Malik was produced by town investigation police here on Thursday in the court of civil judge and Judicial Magistrate 1, Mirpurkhas, where statement was recorded under section 164 CrPc, she accused that about two months back she was abducted by Ghani Kabari and his son Rashid Malik as she was given intoxicate medicine and taken her to Karachi where she was kept first in hotel and then kept her in a rented house. Reshma further said that she was physically tortured in illegal confinement and torture marks were visible at her body . The court allowed her to go with her parents. On this occasion Abdul Malik, father of the victim girl, and mother told the newsmen that above accused were their neighbors and are influential as result local police were hopeless before them. He said with a sob that accused had ruined the life of her daughter. They demanded the chief justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan , chief justice high court, human rights organizations and higher police officers to immediately arrest the involved culprits Ghani Kabari and his son Rashid Malik and punish them exemplary. They told that accused had been boarded their daughter in a Miprurkhas bound coach at Karachi last night  and their daughter Ms Reshma reached at Mirpurkhas. DSP city Mirpurkhas Mohammad Ayub Dars told that legal action will be taken against the accused in the light of recorded statement of victim Ms Reshma and after receiving her medical examination report. It may be recalled that on May 27, 2011, abduction case of complainant Abdul Malik was lodged with town police station against the accused Rashid Malik, Majid, Ghani Kabari and his wife Ms Bundi.




MIRPURKHAS July 21. Census commissioner Sindh Noor Mohammad Leghari has said that training would be provided in Sindh to selected officials for census from Sept 7 to Sept 28 like other provinces and added that census will be started from Sept 30 and will be completed till Oct 14th. . He was reviewing the arrangements made sofar regarding the 6th coming census process in a meeting held here on Thursday He further said that human census and house census were being made after declaring the year 2011 by UNO in the world regarding human census and house census. He expressed that for human census, selected women in cities while men in villages would be appointed for this purpose. Commissioner further said that owing to correct human census in future, planning of development works will be made easy in the country. He expressed that problems were created due to wrong entries in human census. He added that there will be required complete cooperation of all the staff sothat this human census might be completed without any problem. He told that a person will be appointed at each block for human census and will take census of 250 to 300 houses while complete cooperation of law enforcing agencies would be provided to field officials. He said that commissioner Mirpurkhas will supervise this work on divisional level, deputy commissioners on district level and assistant commissioners would supervise this human census on taluka level, while in this connection all necessary funds were being released to all districts. Commissioner Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon on this occasion assured complete cooperation and added that complete facilities would be provided to trained staff during census process. Deputy commissioner Mirpurkhas Mohammad Bachal Rahepota, Deputy commissioner Umerkot Nazar Mohammad Kalhoro, assistant commissioner Sanghar Subhan Chandar, additional deputy commissioner Tharparkar Imran Bhatti, assistant census commissioner Mirpurkhas Mohammad Shafique and district officer education sports Rasool Bux Leghari attended the meeting.

MIRPURKHAS July 20. The court of additional sessions Judge Mirpurkhas 1, ordered the SHO town police to register the case against the accused (including district health officer Mirpurkhas) involved in armed attack at the Maria medical center here on Tuesday after hearing the advocate of Dr Yasir Iqbal, administrator of the hospital and SHO town. Yasir Iqbal, administrator of the hospital had been filed the application under section 22-A and B Cr.P.C in the above court in which he stated that on July 17, Mrs Javed Ali Leghari delivered a baby in the hospital while the delivery was normal but later on baby’s condition did not remain satisfactory. Concerned lady Doctor and staff tried their best out but the baby died . He added that later, in morning, father of late baby Javed Ali Leghari and unknown 15 to 20 persons entered into the hospital and started harassing the dispenser Gul Sher, lab attendant Ravi , Staff Nurse Mubeena and Choukidar Kheemchand. They broken down the glasses of the hospital and extorted RS 23550 kept on counter and took away with them. During this Dr Haneef Baloch, district health officer Mirpurkhas came there and abused all staff and taken away the concerned file of the patient Mrs Javed Ali Leghari. He further said that DHO also issued threats of dire consequences and threat to get the hospital closed. He stated that DHO asked the applicant and private workers settle the dispute with Javed Ali Leghari else we were to be put to heavy loss of lives and property. Applicant further said that he had submitted the application in town police station for registration of his complaint but police refused to lodge his case.

MIRPURKHAS July 20. Pakistan medical association PMA district Mirpurkhas chapter has strongly condemned the armed attack on the Maria medical center and implicating the lady doctor and staff in false case. According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, Meeting of PMA Mirpurkhas was held that was presided by its president Dr Darya Khan Khaskheli while the meeting called the authorities to provide protection to the doctors and health staff. President Dr Darya Khan Khaskheli and general secretary Dr Shamsul Aarfeen deplored that miscreants had attacked at the Maria hospital and broken down the glasses, looted the cash money, and taken away file record of concerned patient, oxygen gas cylinder, keys and also implicated the lady doctor and staff in false case. They said that doctors provide medical treatment even in badly condition and if this practice will be repeated in future then doctors and health staff would be compelled to launch protest campaign. They appealed the district administration and police to take necessary steps in this regard and said that if any such kind of incident occurs then concerned department should conduct the inquiry and register the case sothat innocent persons might be saved from being involved in offence. They further demanded the DIG Mirpurkhas zone and DPO Mirpurkhas to withdraw the false case without any delay and provide the justice to the innocent persons.

MIRPURKHAS July 20. Vote casting for election of Azad Kashmir assembly for constituency LA 36 and LA 30 was also held here on Wednesday as polling station was setup at Government Modal primary school Dholanabad. There were total 150 votes including women here while polling was started at 8 AM morning in peaceful manner and remained continue till 4 PM. According to unofficial result , candidate of MQM Tahir Khokhar of LA 36 constituency got 77 votes  out of 79 votes while in constituency LA 36, MQM candidate Saleem Batt gained 68 votes out of 71 votes. Strict security arrangements were made on this occasion. Later, after announcement of winning the above both seats with big margin for candidates of MQM, a huge rally was taken out from central election office Dholanabad on behalf of MQM Mirpurkhas zone. Participators carrying MQM flags and photographs of Altaf Hussain, raised slogans in the favor of Altaf Hussain and MQM and rounded in at the roads of the city. Besides, in a press statement member MQM interior Sindh Tanzemi committee Mohammad Yousuf, zonal incharge Azeem Danish and members zonal committee said that MQM had given tickets to the persons who belong to middle class sothat they could themselves solve their problems.

MIRPURKHAS July 19. President PML (Q) district Mirpurkhas Abdul Ghaffar Rajput, city president Mirpurkhas Anwer Mughal and other office bearers including Haji Mir Hassan Brohi, Rashid Rajput, Ch Mohammad Zafar Bajwa etc have congratulated to Haleem Aadil Shaikh, provincial general secretary of PML (Q) Sindh and Aijaz Shah Sherazi, Shaharyar Khan Maher and Mohammad Ali Malkani for their appointments as advisors to Sindh chief minister. In a joint press statement issued here on Tuesday, they also congratulated to Dr Ishratul Ibad for resuming his charge as Governor Sindh. They said that with reappointment of Dr Ishratul Ibad as Governor Sindh, law and order situation of the province will be controlled while province will also make progress.

MIRPURKHAS July 19. President Sindh chamber of agriculture district Mirpurkhas chapter Mir Zafarullah Talpure has strongly condemned the concerned authorities for failure to complete repair and strengthen works of the dykes and banks of canals and distributaries that had been affected with last year flood. Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that federal government as well as Sindh government had been released the funds for repair and strengthen work of the dykes and banks of the canals that had been adversely affected with last year flood, but he deplored that unfortunately responsible authorities did not fulfill their responsibilities in this regard, while there was expected rainfall and experts had also been warned about the development of the flood condition this year also after heavy rainfall in the Sindh province. He said that Sindh province had been suffered big losses due to last year flood and lakhs of people had been displaced from their lands and areas for relief camps. He termed inefficiency of the concerned authorities that failed to complete the repair and strengthen work of the dykes and urged the government to take immediate notice in this regard and ensure completion of the repair and strengthening work of the dykes and backs before the rainfall and save the Sindhi people from their big losses.

MIRPURKHAS July 12.Crackdown of district police, rounded up 15 narcotic peddlers and recovered huge quantity of unhealthy Gutka and other narcotics from their possession during 24 hours in the district. Report said that on a tip off, town police carried out raid and apprehended accused Sajid Ali Malik near from Tandoadam road and recovered from his possession 54000 Gutka no 2100. Town police have also lodged the case against the above accused under narcotic act. Meanwhile, police also picked up during raids the accused including narcotic peddlers Saddam, Irfan, Nazeer, Mohammad Ilyas, Dhani Bux, Riaz, Mohammad Aslam, Atta Mohammad, Hira Lal, Dileep Malhi, Manzoor Ali Ujjan, Sohail, Mohammad Shafique and Mohammad Aalam Khaskheli and recovered from their possession 703 liters liquor, 20 bottles wiski wine, one kilogramme and 395 grams charas and 4000 unhealthy Gutka. Besides, an accused Qurban Lanjo was nabbed during vehicle checking and recovered from his possession unlicensed TT pistol and huge quantity of bullets. 


MIRPURKHAS July 11. Deputy district population welfare officer Mirpurkhas Nasrullah Kumbhar has said that family planning was a requirement for controlling the population and population could be controlled by implementation on the best advices of doctors. He was speaking at the rally taken out from civil hospital to post office chowk to mark world population day here on Monday at post office chowk. The rally was taken out led by deputy district population welfare officer Mirpurkhas Nasrullah Kumbhar, while officers and officials of the department including women officers participated. He further said that population was increasing in speed in the country while there was need to msutly control it. He said that his department had been launched different programmes in the province. He expressed that due to more than population problems of the people were increasing in which children education, health, food and poverty. He said that welfare centers of population department, mobile services and reproductive health centers were working for services of the masses. He appealed the masses to take more than benefit of the government facilities of population planning. Shehzado Malik of arts foundation also spoke the participators. 

MIRPURKHAS July 11. Senior child specialist and incharge peads ward of civil hospital Mirpurkhas Dr Ghazi Khan Mari was died of kidney failure here on Sunday late night. He was over 50 years old. His kidneys were being made dialysis from the local dialysis center Mirpurkhas for last various months. He was also patient of sugar for last 20 years. His funeral was attended by hundreds of people including his colleagues’ doctors, relatives, friends and citizens and laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in taluka Hussain Bux Mari.

MIRPURKHAS July 11. Following the restoration of previous commissionarate system in the province, ex DCO Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon has been appointed as commissioner Mirpurkhas division and he has been taken over the charge and started the work here on Monday. Report said that ex EDO revenue Mirpurkahs Bachal Rahepota has been appointed as deputy commissioner Mirpurkhas and he has also been taken over the charge. Ex DCO Tharparkar Shakeeluz Zaman has been appointed as deputy commissioner Tharparkar and he has been taken over the charge. Ex DCO Sanghar Ahmed Bux Khokhar has been appointed as deputy commissioner Sanghar and he has also been taken over the charge. Ex DCO Umerkot Nazar Mohammad Kalhoro has been appointed as deputy commissioner Umerkot and he has also been taken over the charge.

MIRPURKHAS July 11. A rally was taken out by PPP district Mirpurkhas and its different wings including people’s labour bureau here on Monday from its city office in the support of historical decision of the Sindh government to restore the commissionarate system. Led by MPA Shamim Aara Panhwer, president people’s labour bureau Sindh Rehmatullah Sarki, Niaz Pathan and Maqbool Khatyan, participators carrying banners and placards marched through main roads and reached at local press club. Where speakers said that PPP has made historical work to replace the system of a previous dictator and present commissionarte system will provide more than benefit to the masses. They said that commissionerate system was the dream of Shaheed Rani Mohtarma Benazeer Bhutto which was restored in the Sindh province on the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari. They hoped that now government will take measures to provide relief to the masses by solving the problems of unemployment and prolong load shedding. They said that PPP government will also make services of the masses in future also and all the grievances of the masses would be resolved with the cooperation of the masses. 

MIRPURKHAS July 11. At least 12 persons have been booked by town police in charges of beating a person in court premises and kidnapping him here on Monday. Report said that About a dozen persons with arms have attacked on one Arif Abbasi, beated him, ensure aerial firing and kidnapped him forcibly , during this town police went back to the kidnappers but in the way, kidnappers left the abductee and fled away . Report said that Ms Sonia and Kareem, resident of Bishti colony had allegedly been married some days back with their willings. While on Monday morning Arif Abbasi, uncle of Kareem reached in the local court with necessary documents related with marry of above couple that suddenly about a dozen persons with arms appeared there and beated the Arif Abbasi , ensure aerial firing and forcibly kidnapped him from the court premises. During this local police intervened and went back to the kidnappers but in the way kidnappers left the kidnappee and fled away. On the intervention of Riaz Ahmed Soomro, DPO Mirpurkhas, case was lodged with town police station under section 364, 403, 147, 148, 149, 337 F(i), 337 F(ii), 504 and 34 PPC on the complaint of victim Arif Abbasi incharges of kidnapping and beating etc against the 12 accused including Mohammad Yousuf, Idrees, Saleem, Ghulam Rasool, Ghulam Mustafa, Rafique, Younus, Bilal, Akbar , Shafique and Lateef. Report said that few relatives of MS Sonia were also included among the accused. However no accused was yet arrested by town police.

MIRPURKHAS May 2. Murder case of Farhanul Haq, employee of Intelligence bureau IB, who had been gunned down near Malik Riaz colony, Satellite town on Sunday has been lodged with Satellite town police station here on Monday. Deceased’s brother Irfanul Haq, registering the murder case under section 302, 324, 337H(ii), 34 PPC, read with R/W 6/7 Anti terrorism act ATA accused that Jawad, Hammad and two unknown persons on their bikes had killed his brother with firing, while on this occasion accused asked that deceased was created hurdles in their work. However no arresting of accused was made sofar.Besides, on behalf of state case under section 353, 324, 147, 148 and 149 (creating hurdles in government duty and attempt to murder ) was lodged with Satellite town police station accusing that unknown armed persons created hurdles in official duty even they resorted strait firing with sophisticated arms on the Satellite town police station against unknown persons.Meanwhile, MQM activist Syed Vilayat Ali Shah lodged the case under section 324, 147, 148 and 149 PPC, accusing that he along with Mohammad Anwer was on their way at Ring road that accused Malik Riaz Awan, Zaheer Arain, Rana Amir, Ghulam Bari, Shehbaz Gill, Hafeez, Naeem Jatt and 7 unknown persons intercepted them and disputed with them even beated to Mohammad Anwer as result he sustained head injuries.It may be recalled that on Sunday, dispute was created between two groups in Malik Riaz colony near Satellite town police station while some persons of a group were forced to take shelter in Satellite town police station while armed persons of other group attacked on the police station even resorted strait firing on the police station and police retaliated the fires as result armed clash took place after this rangers were called there that control the trouble condition, however a youth Farhanul Haq , 22 , was killed of bullets. 

MIRPURKHAS May 2. An employee of Telephone and Telegraph T&T  department Sanghar was gunned down by two armed motor cyclists in day light near National bank building on Monday in Sanghar town. Report received that as Ali Khan Chakrani, 32, son of Ghulam Mohammad Chakrani came out from the National bank building and was on their way in the street that two unknown armed motor cyclists appeared there and opened indiscriminate firing on him as result he sustained serious bullet injuries and died on the spot. The armed assailants fled away at their bike. Sanghar police reached at the spot and shifted the body to civil hospital Sanghar for autopsy. After post mortem body was handed over to his heirs. Sanghar police said that murder was caused of old enmity. However no murder case was yet lodged with Sanghar police station till filing of the news. 

MIRPURKHAS May 2. Divisional chairman Pakistan workers federation and Wapda Hydro electric central labour union Hesco Mirpurkhas Akbar Leghari has said that labours were deprived of their rights while their struggle will remained continue to get their rights. He was speaking at the ceremony of death anniversary of Shaheed of the union labour leader Umeed Ali Kaim Khani and world labour day held here on Monday in premises of Hesco Mirpurkhas division office that was attended by representatives and workers of Pakistan workers federation, Bricks kiln union, Mirpurkhas sugar mill union, Municipal union and other unions . He said that there was need of movement like rights struggle of labours of Shikago. He further said that founder of Wapda Hydro electric labour union Sindh Umeed Ali Kaim Khani was killed as he was struggling for rights of the labours. He accused that more than injustice were being made with labours in the country. He alleged that government had been failed to resolve the grievances of the labours. He expressed that labours had been compelled to commit suicide due to price hike. He alleged that politicians and bureaucracy were looting the national resources. He deplored that lakhs of labours were deprived of their employments on the name of privatization in the country. While on the pretext of down sizing, right sizing and golden Hand shake, labours were being sacked from their jobs. Divisional secretary Hydro Union Haji Mohammad Yousuf Soomro has paid rich tribute to labours of Shickago and said that their struggle was continued today also. Malik Abdul Kareem of workers federation said that very soon labours would bring revolution in the country and added that rulers and other politicians had been snatched the genuine rights of labours and said that there has been necessary to make joint struggle at a platform for their rights. Those also spoke Shahid Kazmi, Brick union Amanat Ali, Mohammad Shareef of Municipal union, Mohammad Nasir and Asghar Khaskheli.
 
MIRPURKHAS May 2. DPO Mirpurkhas Riaz Ahmed Soomro has said that massive measures will be taken against law breakers and those could give loss to lives and properties of the masses with the help of Rangers in the district . He was talking to newsmen here on Monday after Presiding a meeting in his office on law and order situation of the city as well as district. He further said that after disturbance in the limit of Satellite town police station on Sunday, Rangers and police jointly made flag march in the city to provide protection to the citizens and control the law and order by strict checking of the people. He said that patrolling of police and rangers have been intensified in the city and situation is in control. 

MIRPURKHAS May 2. 46th annual Mango and summer fruit festival Mirpurkhas will be held on June 2 to 4 with proper manner as Mirpurkhas is the city of Mango and more than better arrangements would be made than last year with complete security to the masses sothat no any untoward incident might be occurred. This said, while presiding a meeting to discuss the arrangements of the Mango and summer fruit festival Mirpurkhas here on Monday that was attended by chairman Mango festival committee Anwer Gondal, S.A.Khan Advocate, Mansoor Cheema, Abdul Kareem Memon, representatives of abadgars and government officers. He said that industrial exhibition, agriculture exhibition, Malakhra, boxing, cultural exhibition, ox race, family festival, horse race, Meena Bazaar and different sports competition would also be held. He directed to ensure more than participation of the abadgars and growers in the festival. He said that Mango festival will be held on June 2 to 4 while other exhibition and programmes would remained continue from June 2 to 8. MIRPURKHAS April 14. A worker of PPP and local leader of Ghosia Jamaat Mirpurkhas was gunned down by his brother at Siaal colony here on Wednesday late night. Report said that Sardar Siaal and Khadim Siaal , both brothers had been disputed over the joint properties, while their uncle had also been decided the disputed matter but again both disputed during which suddenly Khadim Siaal opened fires on his brother Sardar Siaal, 35, son of Ali Mohammad Siaal as result he was killed of serious bullet injuries at the spot. SHO town Mohammad Amin Mari reached at the spot and shifted the body to civil hospital for autopsy. SHO told the newsmen that accused Khadim Siaal was himself surrendered at town police station and claiming of committing murder. Police said that some three suspected had been detained by town police. The body of the deceased was handed over to his heirs after post mortem from civil hospital Mirpurkhas. However no case of this murder was lodged with town police station till filing of the news.
MIRPURKHAS April 14. Board of intermediate and secondary education Mirpurkhas announced it’s schedule of the annual examination of 9th and 10th classes from 18th April in the Mirpurkhas region. In this connection all the arrangements have been finalized by the board. Barkat Qureshi, assistant controller examination told the newsmen here on Thursday that total 54000 girls and boys’ candidates would take part in the annual exam in Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Umerkot and Tharparkar districts while 121 examination centers had been setup for this purpose. He said that examination slips have been issued to the candidates through their educational insitutes and if any candidate did not receive the slip should contact with controller examination of the board. He said that we were seeking the cooperation of teachers, civil society, parents and candidates to stop the use of unfair means during annual exam. He added that 15 vigilance teams have been formed comprising EDOs education, board of governors and members of educational board for monitoring the exam at 121 examination centers. He expressed that directives had been issued to candidates that they would not use any mobile cell phone and cheating materials in the premises of examination center. He expressed that any candidate found using unfair means during exam will be ousted from the examination center and will be disqualify for 1 to 3 years according to his offence. A control room has been setup headed by controller examination Rana Javed Yousuf that will take immediate action on the received complaint. MIRPURKHAS April 14. President Sanghar press club Ashfaque Ahmed Bhatti has come under armed attack in Sanghar town by two masked armed motor cyclists on Wednesday night. Report received that senior journalist and president of Sanghar press club Ashfaque Ahmed Bhatti was on his way to house from press club in his car that two unknown masked armed motor cyclists opened fires on him as result bullets were penetrated in his car, while fortunately he remained unhurt. The armed motor cyclists escaped away as the citizen gathered at the spot. Later, attempt to murder case was lodged with Sanghar police station against the two unknown armed motor cyclists by victim Ashfaque Ahmed Bhatti. Later, DPO Sanghar Abdullah Shaikh met with Ashfaque Ahmed Bhatti and get information about the whole incident and assured that involved culprits would soon be arrested. Meanwhile emergency meeting of Sanghar press club was held on Thursday presided by general secretary Mohammad Raza Khan that was attended by dozens of local journalists including Aslam Memon and Sagheer Ahmed Rajput. Meeting demanded the higher authorities to ensure immediate nabbing the involved culprits and punish them exemplary.

Token hunger strike was observed by Sindh tarraqi Passand party district Sanghar on Thursday in front of Sanghar press club to protest against the intervention of an organization that was willing to change the Sindhi population in minority in the province. Report said that office bearers and workers including Dilmurad Dahni, Shahnawaz Naik, Abdul Jabbar Junejo, Allah Jurio Magsi and others observed the token hunger strike. Hunger strikers, talking to newsmen accused that government had been handed over the house counting Census campaign to an organization that wanted to change the majority of Sindhi people into minority while in present condition; they alleged that many houses of Sindhi people would not be registered in the campaign and we had been informed to DCO Sanghar in this regard but no action was yet appeared. They demanded the higher authorities to take notice and ensure registration of all houses during census campaign in Sanghar district.

Deputy Director Food department Mirpurkhas region Mohammad Hussain Ghumro has said that allegations leveling on food department officials regarding selling the Bardana to traders baseless and fabricated , while Bardana was being distributed among the growers without any discrimination in the region. Talking to the local news man on Wednesday, he said that he was receiving complaints of some officials and he will suspend them soon. In reply a question regarding providing the Bardana to office bearers and workers of ruling party instead to distribute among the growers without any discrimination, he said that it was decided that PPP legislatures would provide the list of their growers for providing them Bardana. He said that wheat procurement campaign was ongoing in the region and sofar, 493000 wheat bags had been purchased in district Sanghar against the target of 20 lakhs wheat bags, while in Mirpurkhas and Umerkot districts, 184000 wheat bags had yet been procured. He hoped that we would achieve the target of wheat procurement campaign.

Razzaq Miano and Aqeel Miano both brothers of deceased Zohra Miano, resident of ward no 3, Tando Jan Mohammad town have called the chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chohadhry, president Asif Ali Zardari, prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and other authorities to take immediate notice of spoiling the murder case of their sister and punish the responsible police officials including SPO taluka Digri Mir Aftab Talpure and Sub inspector of investigation Digri police Alji Sodo and also ensure immediate arresting of the nominated accused of the murder case. Addressing at a joint press conference here on Wednesday. They said that about one and half years back their sister Ms Zohra Miano had been married with Mir Amanullah Talpure but his father Mir Wali Mohammad Talpure and his brothers were angry on his marriage. They told that Mir Amanullah Talpure informed them on March 17 that his wife Ms Zohra Miano had been missing along with 1 lakh rupees after which they jointly made her search but Mir Amanulah Talpure was also missing on March 20 on which we suspected and after receiving the information regarding her murder we got registered the murder case on March 22 with Digri police station against Mir Amanullah Talpure and his father Mir Wali Mohammad Talpure , but investigation police did not yet nab them. They said that she was murdered secretly after selling her gold ornaments of RS 5 lakhs and acquiring other cash RS 7 lakhs , while her body was taken secretly from Digri town to shrine Sarwar Noh graveyard near village Kario Ganwar, taluka Golarchi, district Badin, where Hindu Kolhi, labours of the Mir Amanullah Talpure buried her body in the graveyard, they added. They said that they submitted the application in the court of district and sessions Judge Mirpurkhas for post mortem of their deceased sister but sessions judge Mirpurkhas wrote the letter to sessions Judge Badin after which medical board made post mortem of their deceased sister in presence of concerned judicial magistrate and then body was handed over them for proper burial. They accused that ex SIO of Tando Jan Mohammad police Alji Sodo first of all spoiled the murder case with the help of SPO Mir Aftab Talpure while SPO Mir Aftab had become the party and instead to nab the nominated accused , he was roaming openly along with nominated accused in the area. They alleged that nominated accused were issuing them threats of dire consequences and claiming that they have political support of influential personalities of ruling party and withdraw the murder case otherwise they would kill them. They said that Mir Wali Mohammad Talpure wanted to marry his son Mir Amanullah Talpure with a woman who had 200 acres agriculture lands and other properties. They lamented that nominated accused were still openly roaming and issuing threats of dire consequences but police avoiding to detain them. They urged the higher authorities to intervene into this matter, provide them justice by ensuring immediate arresting of the nominated accused and punish them exemplary.

Secretary education Sindh Naheed S.Durrani has ordered the inquiry into the incident of alleged rap committed by a lecturer of Government girls college Khuhra , district Khairpur and appointed a three member inquiry team comprising chairman proff Abdul Aziz Panhwer , regional director colleges Mirpurkhas region and members Shabroz Sandelo, principal of government girls college Larkana and Kanyalal, principal government degree college Liyari , Karachi, while she directed the inquiry team to conduct the inquiry and submit her facts finding report of this incident along with recommendations within 15 days. Official sources informed the local news man on Tuesday. Sources said that about 2 months back this incident had been occurred while allegations were leveled on Lecturer Mazhar Ali Channa of government girls college Khuhra , district Khairpur for committing rap with student Ms Saba Ambreen Gilal, while senior minister for education Pir Mazharul Haq had also been taken strict notice into this matter and on his intervention case was lodged with concerned police station against the accused lecturer Mazhar Ali Channa and he was apprehended by police and at this time he was in prison.

An awareness rally regarding providing education to the children was taken out by education department Mirpurkhas from Government Shah Waliullah boys’ high school Mirpurkhas to local press club here on Tuesday. Led by DCO Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon and EDO education Mirpurkhas Jalil Lashari , participators including students, teachers and citizens , carried banners and placards, marched through main roads and reached at local press club where speaking at the participators DCO Ghulam Hussain Memon advised the people to get registration of their children in government schools as standard of the education in government schools was being made better than earlier due to strict watch of the officers. He further said that today’s education was must for each child and on behalf of government free education till matriculation was being provided without any discrimination. EDO education also spoke the rally. Later, in the schools of Satellite town, DCO Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon and EDO education have inaugurated the registration campaign of education department by filling the admission forms of the new students.

MIRPURKHAS April 12. A taxi driver was killed by armed highway robbers at Mirpurkhas Sanghar road near Kandiari on Tuesday. Report received that Yaseen Mangrio,40, taxi driver, resident of village Mohammad Bux Mangrio as reached near Kandiari at Mirpurkhas Sanghar road from his village after getting passengers for going to Karachi that 5 armed unknown robbers were busy to loot the vehicles by blocking the main highway road and the robbers had already been looted various vehicles. Robbers stopped his car and tried to loot him but he offered resistance on which one of the robber opened fires on him as result he sustained various bullet injuries and died on the spot while the passengers remained safe. The robbers fled away after this incident from the spot in hurry. Soon after this incident villagers from neighbor villages arrived there after listening the voice of fires and shifted the body of the deceased driver to rural health center Kandiari for autopsy. Later, after post mortem, his body was handed over to his heirs and his relatives in dozens along with deceased body have demonstrated at Main Mirpurkhas Sanghar road near Kandiari to protest against peromal police failure for not taking measures to nab the involved robbers . Led by Abdul Lateef Mangrio, protesters, accusing that peromal police were failed to take immediate action against the involved culprits even police did not cordoned the suspected area for nabbing the involved robbers and they added that they themselves have arranged the private Peri for tracing the escaped robbers with the help of their foot prints . They demanded the DPO Sanghar to take notice against the negligence of the Peromal police and ensure immediate arresting of the involved culprits. Later they dispersed after police assurance of lodging the murder case and apprehending the culprits. When contacted peromal police told that no any person was yet reached at police station for registration the murder case.

MIRPURKHAS April 7. Cotton sowing was delaying in tail end areas of lower Nara canal owing to shortage of irrigation water. Report said that cotton sowing had been started in the province from April 1st but water scarcity was prevailing in the tail end areas of lower Nara canal including Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Tharparkar districts. It may be recalled that above tail end districts were produced more than cotton crop each year. Last year cotton was sowed at 40000 hectors in district Mirpurkhas. Growers were expecting the required supply of water in their distributaries and minors but as the cotton sowing season launched water supply was decreased and according to irrigation department water was being supplied 10500 cusec discharge in head of the Nara canal against the required 14000 cusec discharge. When contacted Mir Zafarullah Talpure, president Sindh chamber of agriculture district Mirpurkhas chapter accused that first the irrigation department was supplying the less water discharge in Nara head than required quantity while it had also been failed to remove over 400 illegal pumping machines installed at the both banks of Nara canal in district Khairpur that were the main source of wheat stealing. He further alleged that government had failed to approve the additional water in Nara canal of about 1 lakh acres that had been shifted to Nara canal from Rohri canal in past. He said that water theft had also become common in the command area of Nara canal and concerned authorities remained yet fail to take legal action against the culprits. He deplored that when water was reached in the limit of district Sanghar where also big landlords were allegedly stolen the irrigation water and added that such very less quantity of water was reached in districts Mirpurkhas and Umerkot. He said that if the present shortage of water was remained further a week then cotton sowing will be adversely affected and cotton sowing target might not be achieved in the tail end areas. He urged the higher authorities to take notice and ensure supply of required quantity of water in Nara head, stop the water stealing and remove the illegal pumping machines in the benefit of agriculture sector and common growers. Haji Abdul Ghafoor Maher advocate, vice president of Sindh abadgar board SAB district Mirpurkhas chapter said that cotton was cultivated at about 5 lakhs of acres in tail end Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Tharparkar districts. He deplored that if the water supply was not improved in tail end areas then cotton crop will be cultivate at very less acres as result cotton production from this region would be reduced than last year. He said that water was the main source of crop and very less water quantity was entered into the above tail end areas due to open water theft. He said that without stoppage of water stealing, water supply could not be improved in tail end areas. He demanded the secretary irrigation, provincial minister for irrigation, director Nara canal and other authorities to ensure supply of water according to requirement in Nara canal head and stop immediately the water theft by taking drastic measures in this regard. Irrigation official said that efforts are being made to reach the irrigation water till tail end areas and hoped that water supply was improving day by day in Nara canal and added that cotton sowing will not be affected also in future. 

MIRPURKHAS April 7. Rally was taken out by health department Mirpurkhas from civil hospital to local press club under world health day here on Thursday. Participators including government officers, doctors, para medical staff and citizens led by EDO health Mirpurkhas Shafqat Dahri , carrying banners and placards marched through main roads and reached at local press club where speaking a the participators EDO health said that unnecessary use of anti biotic medicines might be proved harmful for the life . He asked the people to care of their health for forming healthy society. He said that purpose of rally was to create awareness among the masses. Regarding polio disease, he said that polio was the dangerous disease and health department was making all out efforts to end it from the society . He appealed the masses to cooperate with health staff to make successful anti polio campaign. Dr Mushtaque said that 24 hours health facility was being provided to the masses while teams were going door to door to administer the polio vaccine to the under 5 years children. 

 
MIRPURKHAS April 7. About 5 passengers of a Naokot bound van were burnt to death and various were injured in the terrorism incident at Bandi Shakh, near Al Abbas Sugar mill, at Mirpurkhas Digri road here on Thursday. Report said that there was ongoing dispute between two transport groups for running the van service between Mirpurkhas and Naokot. Report added that Van service had been stopped by administration in past while transport group of van had gone to Sindh high court circuit bench Hyderabad that had been ordered for running the van also on Naokot Mirpurkhas rout with separate timings , while transport group of coaster was opposing to run the van at this rout. Report said that a van with 22 passengers and a driver and cleaner left the bus terminal Mirpurkhas for Naokot along with police personnels but as this van reached at the ring road near Chona Factory, unknown armed persons opened fires on it for stoppage but van driver did not stop the van and taken the van in speed out of the range of the armed persons. Driver of the van Safdar Abbasi told the newsmen that as the van reached near Bandi Shakh, 4 unknown armed persons in a Core car no 643 reached there and stopped the van on gun point, dragged out him from the van , tortured him , while he saved his live to hide in nearby shrubs. He further said that armed persons resorted aerial and strait firing at the van and then hurled the kerosene oil on the van and set on fire even did not allow the passengers to come out of the van. He said that about 5 passengers burnt to death, while various passengers sustained burn injuries even saved their lives to take shelter in nearby villages. Armed persons easily escaped away from the spot in their car, he added. Eyewitness Ms Samina , resident of village Kamal Khan Chang, district Badin told that at the time of setting on fire the van, police personnels were also present there. She said that she along with her mother Ms Haleema was traveling in the van as she was sit at the front side and her mother was sit in back seat that as the armed persons stopped the van and dragged out the driver from van, she was also came out from the van and in weeping condition said that armed persons and police personnels did not allow her mother to come out the van during burning the van while she had requested the armed persons in this regard. She said that she saw the scene of burning the passengers including her mother. She identified the skeleton of her mother placed at the seat after burning while about 4 bodies had also been converted into small pieces of woods and powder. Panic was prevailed in the area after this incident and thousands of people from Digri and Mirwah Gorchani town were reached at the spot . DPO Mirpurkhas Zulfikar Maher, who had also been reached at the spot after receiving the information of this terrorism incident, told the media men that there was dispute between two groups of transporters of van and coasters on the running of van service at Naokot Mirpurkhas route and we had tried to settle their dispute . He further said that this tragedy incident occurred as the van service lauched at this route. He accused that coaster transport group was involved in this incident. He asserted that involved culprits would be arrested after registration of the FIR of this incident. Report said that injured passengers were missing from the spot and they were not reached also at rural health center Mirwah Gorchani town and civil hospital Mirpurkhas. Meanwhile, Mir Zafarullah Talpure, president Sindh chamber of agriculture district Mirpurkhas chapter , talking to newsmen accused that transport mafia was involved in this tragedy incident while district administration should immediately take notice and ensure arresting of the transporters involved in this incident . He urged the authorities to take legal action against the Bhatt mafia of transporters and impose ban on such terrorism like transporters group and their transports. Local leader of Jeay Sindh Quami Mahaz JSQM Asghar Mirrani advocate termed this incident as open terrorism incident and strongly condemned of this incident and demanded the immediate apprehending of the involved culprits. No case of this incident was lodged till filing of the news.

MIRPURKHAS March 25. Scores of lecturers and profficers held demonstration by Sindh profficers and lecturers association district Mirpurkhas here on Friday in front of local press club demanding the government to accept their demands. Protesters led by Yaqoob Khawar and Siddique Humayyoon, carried banners and placards, demanding the government to promote them according to time scale, issue posting orders of 17 to 18 grade and 18 to 19 grades professors whose promotions had already been made , cancel the forced transfers of 414 professors and lecturers and remove the differences of salaries on rural and urban basis.
 
MIRPURKHAS March 25. On the call of Ameer Jamaat e Islami, scores of workers and office bearers of Jamaat e Islami Mirpurkhas held demonstration here on Friday at Market chowk to protest against desecration of Holy Quran by a Christian father at USA . Speaking at the protesters leaders Ameer JI Mirpurkhas Zafar Iqbal Mujahid, General secretary Abo Maaz and vice Ameer Azizur Rehman have strongly condemned of this act of Christian father. They accused that Christian father had committed badly religious terrorism. Haq Parast MPA Faheem Ahmed Altafi has said that work was continued at full speed at various development schemes of year 2011 with cost of RS 12 crors to make better water supply, draining out sewerage water and cleanliness system in the city, while after completion of these schemes better atmosphere will be created for the citizens even those come here from outside city. He was talking to newsmen here on Friday. He further said that after 16 years, Sindh games would be held at Mirpurkhas as result opportunities would be created for the local sportsmen for performing their best in different games. He further said that various development schemes of millions of rupees for making better infrastructure of the city had been furnished to the government for approval. He said that there had been prepared different schemes of rupees 10 lakhs for promotion of the sports activities in the district. He told that for installation of Aastrotroph place was being searched with the help of district administration and taluka municipal administration Mirpurkhas in the city . He said that CC roads would be constructed in the city with cost of RS 60 lakhs soon while work on the scheme of rehabilitation of water filter plant of Satellite town with cost of rupees 12500000 (1 cror and 25 lakhs) was continued. He lauded that TMA Mirpurkhas was working in the leadership of its administrator Abdul Wahab Abbasi for providing more than facilities to the citizens.

MIRPURKHAS March 25. Scores of lecturers and professors held demonstration on Friday outside the Sanghar press club in support of their demands. Led by Amar Leghari and Mumtaz Leghari, protesters under the banner of Sindh professors and lecturers association district Sanghar have demanded the government to promote them under time scale and issue the posting orders of those lecturers and professors had already been promoted. They urged the government to accept their genuine demands without any delay.
 
MIRPURKHAS March 25. District bar association Sanghar has boycotted the court proceedings on Friday in Sanghar to protest against the desecration of Holy Quran by Christian father of USA . While led by president of the bar association Nand Kumar advocate , lawyers held also protest demonstration in the premises of district bar association Sanghar and strongly condemned the desecration of Holy Quran. They demanded the government to take immediate notice and raise this issue on international plat form.Besides, demonstration was also held by JUI (Fazlur Rehman) district Sanghar on Friday in front of Sanghar press club to protest against the desecration of Holy Quran. Protesters led by Abdul Ghafoor Mengal and Mushtaque Ahmed Memon, raised slogans against the USA . MIRPURKHAS March 24. Secretary education department has suspended Zulfiqar Ali Shaikh, assistant account officer of EDO education office Mirpurkhas with immediate affect in charges of being allegedly involved in corruption case. Report said that Zulfiqar Ali Shaikh, assistant account officer , ex district officer education secondary Mirpurkhas Mushtaque Ahmed Kaim Khani and ex junior clerk Ghulam Hussain Bajeer had been booked by anti corruption establishment Mirpurkhas in a case no 6/2011 lodged under section u/s 218, 420, 409, 466, 477 and 34 PPC after approval of higher authorities. Report added that above accused had been misappropriated RS 935000 of scholarships funds of the students of 2004. While accused assistant account officer did not maintain accounts and cash book with connivance of other involved officials. Officials of anti corruption establishment ACE circle office Mirpurkhas told that investigation was being made of this case. 

MIRPURKHAS March 24. District officer health Mirpurkhas Dr Ashfaque Ahmed has said that TB disease was a dangerous disease that was created with micro bacterium tuberculosis germs and added that 68000 people each year were died of TB disease in the country. He was addressing at the seminar held here on Thursday on mark of world TB day that was attended by doctors, lady health workers and Para medical staff. He said that TB patient was early healthy if his treatment was made at the time. He said that this disease was shifted to other person immediately and it was mostly affected to lungs. He said that it was also affected to all the parts of the body including backbone, joints and brain. He said that its complete course was of 8 months and added that poor people were mostly affected of it. Those also spoke Dr Yaqoob, district TB coordinator Dr Javed Mari and Dr Manthar Thebo. Later rally was also taken out in this regard from Para medical and health technician school to main gate of civil hospital Mirpurkhas in which participators of seminars attended the rally.Besides, in Sanghar, a walk was also taken out by district health department Sanghar from EDO health office Sanghar to civil hospital Sanghar. Led by EDO health Sanghar Dr Gul Hassan Magsi, carrying banners and placards, marched and reached at civil hospital where EDO health Dr Gull Hassan Magsi, civil surgeon Dr Farooque Awan and Dr Jamaal Din , speaking at the participators said that 90 lakhs people were affected each year of TB disease in the country. They stressed need of proper treatment of the patients. They said that it’s testing facility and free of cost medicines were being provided to patients at 11 health centers of the district Sanghar. 

MIRPURKHAS March 24. District and sessions court Mirpurkhas has been ordered to free 7 peasants (bonded labours) here on Thursday after recording their statements. Report said that Ramchand Oad had been submitted the application in the sessions court , complaining that his 7 relatives were working as peasant at the lands of landlord Manthar Rajar , in the limit of Phuladyyoon police station, while they were forced to labour work while not being paid their wages or share in crops by above landlord . He said that they were deprived of health facilities and requested the session’s judge to order to concern SHO for releasing detained peasants. SHO Phuladyyoon carried out raid and recovered the detained 7 peasants including Dharshi, Soni etc. Released peasants were produced in the session’s court by Phuladyyoon police. 

MIRPURKHAS March 24. More than 40 houses of peasants in village Waryam Narejo, in the limit of Naoabad police station of district Sanghar were completely gutted of fire on Thursday evening. Report received that fire broke out in a house that engulfed the other houses as result about 40 houses were completely ablaze. Fire brigade of Sindhri, Naoabad and Sanghar were reached at the spot to extinguish the fire. However wheat stock, seeds of crops, house articles, gold and silver ornaments and other goods were completely burnt to ashes, while peasants could save their lives and their cattles from dangerous fire. The names of the affected peasants could not be ascertained. However after hectic efforts of 3 hours, fire was extinguished by fire fighters, report said. The affected peasants were sitting in open sky without any help of district government Sanghar.
