MIRPURKHAS Oct 21. AAbiana recovery campaign of irrigation department in Nara canal area water board was slow as still about 50 crors rupees were outstanding dues on the defaulter landlords and growers owing to previous officers. Reliable sources said that in the past officers did not give attention to recover the Aabiana dues from landlords and growers in command area of Nara canal as result over one Arab rupees had declared outstanding dues however during last four years officers massively launched campaign of recovery following pressure of higher authorities and sources said that about 50 crors outstanding dues had recovered while last month due to negligence and inefficiency of 8 sub-divisional officers director Nara canal had issued show-cause notices them owing to their failure to achieve the target of recovery at the time. Sources said that till 24 oct, the target of recovery of aabiana dues RS 25 lakhs was fixed for which officers making efforts to achieve the target by contacting the defaulter landlords and growers and convincing them to pay their dues as soon as possible. However, sources added that various officers and staff were not taking proper interest in this regard as a result recovery campaign was severely affecting. Sources added that director Nara canal Ghulam Mujtaba Dhamra along with engineers and other officers and staff had held various meetings in this regard to achieve the recovery target and had directed the officers to close the water supply to defaulter landlords who was not ready to pay their outstanding aabiana dues.
MIRPURKHAS Oct 21. Al Abbas sugar mill situated near Mirwah Gorchani has suffered big losses after damaging the electric supply system of its alchohal plant distilry following erupting the fire here on Wednesday evening. Reliable sources said that owing to short circuit fire broke out in electric supply system panel of Alchohal plant as result fire destroyed the panel system while fire brigade vehicle called as well as mill system succeeded to extinguish the fire after four to five hours. Alcohal plant of the mill was unfunctioned or closed after the gross damages of millions of rupees.
Panic was spread in the mill among the workers. However fortunately no loss of life was reported. An internal source confirmed that fire broke out in the whole distillery of the power supply line of the mill. When tried to contact for comment regional director of the mill Ghulam Muhammad Soomro cell phone was off.

MIRPURKHAS Oct 3. Father of three children has committed suicide by hanging himself with rope in his house at village Hashim colony, Jhuddo town on Sunday.
Walji Kolhi, 50, son of Dharshi Kolhi hanged himself with rope. Jhuddo police on information arrived at the spot and shifted his body to the rural health center for legal formality. Sources said that he was jobless and owing to starvation and poverty he was compelled to hang himself. Later his body was handed over to his heirs. It may be recalled that owing to increasing poverty and joblessness incidents of suicide had increased in Mirpurkhas division than last some years.

MIRPURKHAS Oct 1. Lawyers under the district bar association Mirpurkhas have boycotted the court proceedings whole day here on Friday in support of their demand of establishment of Sindh high court Mirpurkhas bench, while lawyers also held protest camp and took out protest rally in the premises of district and sessions court Mirpurkhas.
Led by bar president Mirpurkhas Mir Pervez Akhtar Talpure , lawyers including women lawyers , social workers, notables and citizens participated in the protest camp in premises of sessions court Mirpurkhas. Protesters carrying banners and placards raised slogans in support of their demands.
Speaking at the protesters bar president Mir Pervez Akhtar Talpure deplored that over ten thousands of Mirpurkhas cases were in pending while Larkana and Sukkur have low cases despite this high court bench were functioning there and poor people of Mirpurkhas division had deprived of this facility and compelled to suffer heavy expenses for getting justice through Sindh high court Hyderabad bench. He urged the federal and provincial government to take initiative in this regard for early formation of Sindh high court Mirpurkhas bench as there was already available building here. Masood Leghari advocate said that concerned authorities should accept this old demand of poor people of Mirpurkhas division.
Junaid Maher advocate and Muhammad Hashim Shar said that their protest campaign will remained continue till acceptance of their demand.
Adnan Khurram and Mir Naeem Talpure advocate blamed that deliberately authorities had deprived to this region from benefit of Sindh high court Mirpurkhas bench as result poor people had compelled to suffer big expenses for gaining justice.
Asghar Ali Channa and Asif Qureshi advocate warned the government to accept their demand without any delay otherwise their protest campaign will be extended throughout province.
Later lawyers took out a protest rally led by president district bar and marched in the premises of sessions court while demanding the higher authorities to accept their demands without any delay to ensure early justice in less expenses at door step to poors of this region.
MIRPURKHAS Oct 1. Provincial minister for education and also focal person of rain emergency of Mirpurkhas division Syed Sardar Shah convened a high level meeting in commissioner complex Mirpurkhas here on Friday to review the precautionary measures made sofar by the district administrations to face the expected heavy rainfall and flood condition. MPA Syed Zulfikar Ali Shah, commissioner Mirpurkhas division Syed Ajaz Ali Shah, deputy commissioner Mirpurkhas Salamat Memon, SSP Mirpurkhas Chohadhry Asad, deputy commissioners of Umerkot and Tharparkar, revenue , irrigation department, education and agriculture department officers etc participated. Provincial minister heared district wise briefing regarding precautionary measures before expected heavy rainfall and flood condition. He discussed the different options and directed the officers to keep alert their all staff, cancel their leaves and asked them not to leave their headquarters and duties places.
MPA Syed Zulfikar Ali Shah and various other officers also given suggestions regarding the precautionary measures.
Commissioner Mirpurkhas Syed Ajaz Ali Shah also briefed the minister about adopted the precautionary measures before expected heavy rainfall in Mirpurkhas division.
MIRPURKHAS Oct 1. Irrigation department has intensified its Aabiana recovery campaign in Nara canal area water board by issuing strict directives to the concerned irrigation department officers and officials. Irrigation department sources said that recently General manager of Nara canal area water board Abdul Rasheed Maher presided a meeting of irrigation department officers and staff in which discussed the recovery campaign of Aabiana dues , while he asked the officers to intensify the campaign and stern action will be taken against those landlords did not pay their outstanding Aabiana dues.
He further said that Rs 10 millions had recovered of Aabiana outstanding dues from defaulter growers in a month.
Talking to this scribe Abdul Rasheed Maher said that in past dues of Aabiana had increased and now we have intensified the recovery campaign to cover the outstanding arrears.
