MIRPURKHAS May 29. Arrangements to hold or celebrate the national annual 45th Mango and summer fruits exhibition 2010 have been finalized as it will be held on June 4, 5 and 6th 2010 as yet 280 owners of mango orchards have been submitted their forms to management committee to take part in the festival. In 1965, first time Mango festival was held here on district level and gradually it was expended throughout province even now it has been become national level festival as throughout country people including Mango exporters  come here to participate in the festival. It may be recalled that owing to more than production of Mango, MIrpurkhas had been famous as Mango city as Mango orchards are on 13640 hectors in the district. Famous Mango farm of the district are as Rais Khair Mohammad Bhurgari farm, Anwer Gondal farm, Kachehlo farm, Hafeez Dal farm, Asad Ali Junejo farm, Umer Bughio farm, Nawazabad farm, Akbar Rind farm, government fruit farm and Nusratabad farm etc . Talking to newsman, chairman arrangement committee of national annual Mango and summer fruits exhibition Anwer Gondal told that DCO Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon is the chairman management committee and he is the chairman of arrangement committee and their duties are separated however we working with full coordination. He said that programme of this mango exhibition has been finalized as on June 4; provincial minister for agriculture Syed Ali Nawaz Shah will inaugurate the festival while registration of the mango orchards will be made. He said that on last day of the festival on June 6th, chief minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah will be the chief guest of prize distribution ceremony of the exhibition. He said that various meetings of organization committee had yet been held to review the all arrangements of the festival. He expressed that owing to acute shortage of water in this region and due to wave of heavy air and heat persisting, size of mango has been little, while its test has also been affected and it has early been matured than its time as result crop had been come in the local market and being transported to other areas of the country. He said that souvenir of exhibition is under process, while exhibition will be held in Shaheed Benazeer Bhutto Mango festival hall in fruit farm Mirpurkhas that is central air condition. He said that there are 15 commercial varieties of the Mango who will be display mustly in the event along with other varieties of the Mango as Sindhri, Gulab Khasa, Langra, Dasehri, Saroli, Zafran, Anwer Retol, Saleh Bhai, Bombay Alfanso, Chausa, Neelum, Bengam Pali, Swarnarica, Collector and Desi . He further said that mostly owners of mango orchards and abadgars would participated from following areas as Mirpurkhas, Tandoallahyar, Sanghar, Benazeerabad, Noshehroferoz, Matiari, Jamshoro, Umerkot, Tando Ghulam Ali, Tando Mohammad Khan, Taluka Mithi, etc. He expressed that different recreation programme as well as sports competition would also be held on this occasion including Meena Bazaar for ladies, sports activities, Bull cart race, special children’s race, Seminar on Mango crop and its export, fire works and musicial programme.
 
 
MIRPURKHAS May 29. An emergent joint meeting of All Sindh primary teachers association and Masjid teachers association has strongly condemned the government for brutally torturing to the teachers and demanded the government to accept their demands otherwise their protest campaign will remained continue till acceptance of their demands. Joint meeting was held here on Saturday presided by president All Sindh primary teachers association Haji Mohammad Usman Halepota, held at Government Shah Abdul Lateef Primary school while meeting unanimously decided that implementation will be made on the directives of the center and according to programme protest rallies would be taken out daily till May 31st after which massive protest demonstration will be held in front of press club. Meeting further said that from June 1st, token hunger strike will be observed to press the government to accept their genuine demands. Meeting requested the center to call the civil society and political parties to join their struggle and protest campaign for their rights.
 
MIRPURKHAS May 29. Regional director of regional Ombudsman office Mirpurkhas Shafique Ahmed Khan has been directed the District police officers of districts Mirpurkhas, Sanghar and Umerkot to ensure registration of FIRs of the poor complainants who come to police stations for lodging their complaints sothat they could get justice with proper manner. In a press release issued here on Friday, he further said that he had been received various complaints that police were not lodged the FIRs of poor people as result they were deprived of justice and any relief. He asked the police officers to review the cases lying in pending and provide relief and justice to the complainants by arresting the accused.
 
MIRPURKHAS May 29. Chairman Farmers organization council FOC Sindh Javed Ahmed Junejo has accused that despite supplying 13500 cusec water discharge in the Nara canal head , 70 percent shortage of water was persisting in Mithrao, Jamrao, Thar , Khipro and other canals owing to injudicious distribution of water by the irrigation officers . In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said that due to injudicious distribution of water FOC has been removed the committees setup on each sub divisional level to settle the matter related to irrigation water etc and convened the FOC emergency meeting on May 31 Monday at Mirpurkhas in which abadgars of about 8 districts including Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Sanghar, Benazeerabad, Khairpur, Sukkur, Tharparkar and Tandoallahyar would participate to review the present serious condition and artificial shortage of water particularly in tail end areas of the Nara canal. He accused that except director Nara canal area water board, other officers and engineers were not ready to hear the grievances of the abadgars. He alleged that big loss is being given them by shifting the 2 lakhs acres land of Rohri canal to Nara canal while despite handing over the 159 channels out of 162 channels to farmer organizations no officer was giving heed to hear the grievances of the abadgars. He deplored that no body is accepting now to farmer organizations FOs in present situation. He accused that illegal water supply to favorites abadgars is being made by the irrigation officers and XEN Thar canal as victimizing had been closed the irrigation channels being run by farmer organizations FOs. He said that we wanted to work along with irrigation officials but bureaucracy is not ready to work with FOs and added that in this connection emergency meeting has been convened on May 31 in which we would decide to future course of action including holding protest demonstrations and observing the strike in towns and cities. He further said that it will also be decided in the meeting that if the water distribution was not made judiciously then chairmen of the 159 farmer organizations FOs would give their resignations.
