MIRPURKHAS May 10. A newly married couple, resident of Bodal Farm , district Umerkot has demanded the government, judiciary, Media and civil society to provide them protection from being killed and implicating in false cases. Addressing at a joint press conference here on Monday at local press club Niaz Ali Kalar and his wife Ms Eido Kalar told that they had been married on May 7, 2010 at Satellite town Mirpurkhas with their willings while as news of their marriage reached till their relatives, Jan Mohammad father of Ms Eido Kalar, her uncle Mohammad Ibrahim, brother Mohammad Hashim and others issued threats on mobile cell phone to implicate them in different false cases and killing in Karokari. They said that after receiving threats from their relatives, there are feeling themselves in danger and were passing their life in fear atmosphere. They urged the government, judiciary, Media and civil society to provide protection to their lives and properties and accused that above relatives would be responsible if they suffer any loss.

Vice president of Sindh abadgar board district Mirpurkhas chapter Haji Abdul Ghafoor Maher advocate has expressed grave concern over the injustice in water distribution by irrigation officials in Mitharo division causing acute shortage of water in tail of the distributaries. In a press statement issued here on Monday , he deplored that rotation programme is being implemented in Mithrao, Jamrao and Thar divisions to ensure water supply till tail end abadgars incase of acute shortage of water in Nara canal but unfortunately under rotation programme, the abadgars of channels, distributaries and minors fed by Mithrao canal were getting irrigation water each 21 days as result their crop was damaged without water as need of providing water  within 15 days to save the crop and such growers and abadgars suffering big losses even they were failed to sow cotton sowing at their lands, while abadgars of distributaries , channels and minors fed by Jamrao and Thar canals were acquiring the irrigation water under rotation programme within 15 days as result their crop was saved from damages. He alleged that it is the open injustice with abadgars getting water from Mithrao canal. He accused that despite this injustice, water under approved gauge of the channels was not being supplied to distributaries and minors of Mithrao canal causing great hardships to the growers as they were unable to provide the water to their cultivated cotton, sugar cane and other crops. They alleged that water through illegal pipes was openly being stolen with connivance of XEN Mithrao and other officials in different distributaries and minors causing dryness in tail of the distributaries. He deplored that lakhs of fertile agriculture  land of tail end areas had also been barren owing to continue shortage of water. He demanded the Sindh chief minister, minister for irrigation, secretary irrigation and director Nara canal to take notice into this matter, remove the illegal pipes from the canals , stop water theft through tempered water courses and ensure water supply till tail end abadgars to save the crops of the poor landlords.
