MIRPURKHAS July 16. On the call of banned religious party, complete shutter down strike was observed here on Thursday to protest against the target killing of Hafiz Ahmed Bux advocate, leader of banned religious party at Karachi. All the markets, bazaars and shopping centers including Khisak Pura, Shahi bazaar, M.A.Jinnah road, police shopping center, Municipal shopping center, Mirwah road, Jameel Shaheed road, electronic market, cloth market, Hilal market, grain market, Sir Syed road, Gharibabad road, Umerkot road, ring road, Hameed pur colony road, Hirabad, Iqbal road, Bhansinghabad , Satellit town etc remained closed . Police have detained the 12 activists of religious party in charges of forcing the shopkeepers to pull down their shutters. Strict security arrangements were made on this occasion, as personnels were deployed at sensitive places, main chowks, roads, and entry and exit ways of the city to keep strict watch on the miscreants. People facedhardships to get fuel as petrol pumps and CNG filling stations services remained also suspended. Traffic was thin in the city while transports were also thin at their routs as result people faced hardships to go to their destinations. Owing to short traffic, youths were playing cricket at the roads and in streets of the city . Presence of government employees remained short in government offices. Panic remained spread in the city whole day. Police patrolling was also intensified. However no untoward incident reported till filing of the news.

MIRPURKHAS July 16. Director human rights board Mirpurkhas and district and sessions Judge Mirpurkhas has ordered to release the 40 recovered peasants including 23 children here on Thursday after listening them. Report said that on July 14, 2009, Chehro Kolhi, resident of Kot Ghulam Mohammad taluka had submitted an application in which complained that his relatives 40 peasants were detained in illegal confinement of landlord Afzal Maher at village Seth Ghani Maher , taluka Kot Ghulam Mohammad while forced labour work was being taken them for last two years in illegal detention . Sessions Judge ordered the SHO Kot Ghulam Mohammad police to carry out raid and recover the detained peasants. Implementing on the order, SHO KGM conducted the raid at the above village and recovered the 40 peasants including 23 children from illegal captivity , while police produced them in the sessions court that ordered to free them and asked the police to provide protectionthem till their going to their destination with their willing .

MIRPURKHAS July 16. Hundreds of enraged hesco consumers of Satellite town have allegedly attacked at the office of Hesco Satellite town sub division here on Thursday after failure of the hesco officials to repair the faulty power transformer despite passing three days. Report said that enraged consumers entered into the office of Hesco Satellite town sub division and ransacked the furniture beated few employees while mostly employees escaped away from there to save their lives. Mostly protesters carrying sticks damaged the furniture rasied slogans against the concerned staff. They on this occasion complained that their transformer was bursted due to overloading and despite passing three days concerned officials remained fail to repair the faulty transformer as result they were deprived of power supply since three days causing great hardships. They demanded the hesco higher authorities to take immediate notice into this matter and punished the responsibleofficials’ exemplary. Later, some employees reached there and convinced the protesters that very soon, their transformer will start function on which they dispersed. Meanwhile, Scores of enraged people of Rahim Nagar have held protest demonstration at Mirwah road in Bhansinghabad to protest against the prolong power failure in their area. Protesters burnt the old tyres and created hurdles as result traffic was suspended for an hour. Protesters told the media men that their transformer was bursted due to overloading but unfortunately that was not repaired despite passing 12 hours as result they were facing great hardships. Later, Satellite town police reached there who convinced them to disperse peacefully as their power supply will soon be restored.

MIRPURKHAS July 16. DCO Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon has said that three day polio eradication campaign will be launched in the district from July 20, as directives have been issued to concerned staff to complete their arrangements in this regard. Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said that 6 cases of polio disease had yet been appeared in the Sindh province. He told that polio vaccine will be administered to the under five years children total 246395 in the district during this campaign while 38 zonal supervisors, 150 area incharges, 715 vaccine teams , 548 mobile teams , 67 transit points 101 fixed teams and 315 lady health workers would take part to make successful this campaign. He said that announcement for this campaign would be made from mosques and religious places daily. He further said that all the doctors had been directed to go into their areas to apprise the people about this campaign.
