MIRPURKHAS Oct 13. Pakistan Wapda Hydro electric central labour Union (CBA) Mirpurkhas division has took out a protest rally here on Wednesday from railway station chowk to press club to protest against dissolution of PEPCO. Protesters led by divisional chairman Akbar Khan Leghari, carrying banners and placards marched through main roads and reached at local press club where speaking at the protesters divisional chairman Akbar Khan Leghari , Mohammad Yousuf Soomro and Malik Abdul Kareem have strongly condemned the dissolution of PEPCO and demanded the government to give all the companies under Wapda. They expressed their solidarity with directives of their union leaders and said that they would implement upon the decisions of central and provincial union leaders.
 
MIRPURKHAS Oct 13. Doctors and para medical staff of civil hospital Mirpurkhas are working in insecure condition as various incidents had yet been occurred to beat the doctors and staff in emergency wards as well as other wards by angry mobs. Report said that some staff Nurses have complained recently to the civil surgeon Dr Asghar Arain of civil hospital Mirpurkhas in written in which they stated that various armed persons mostly in drunk condition were entered into the Gynecology ward of the hospital in night while they misbehaved with doctors and staff even used abusive languages. They further complained that despite complaint to other staff of the hospital nobody was ready to provide them safety particularly in night. They deplored that in same insecure condition they are not able to perform their duties. They demanded the authorities to provide them protection particularly in night in Gyne ward and take action against them. When contacted Asghar Arain, civil surgeon of the civil hospital said that such kind of incidents had ocurred in the civil hospital and he had also been received written complaints on behalf of staff Nurses of Gyne ward about forcible entry of various armed persons daily in night in Gyne ward and they misbehaved with staff even use abusive languages . He further said that he has informed the DCO Mirpurkhas and DPO Mirpurkhas about this incident and insecure condition of the wards of the hospital and forcibly entries of armed persons and incident of misbehaving with doctors and Nurses , while he added that he requested them to provide the proper protection to the doctors and staff of the civil hospital and ensure legal action against the armed persons.

MIRPURKHAS Oct 13. Rabi crops will be started to sow from Oct 15 in the lower Sindh while still abadgars are engaged to prepare their agriculture lands for sowing particularly wheat crop. Report said that Nara canal and its canals and distributaries were supplied the irrigation water to the lands of lower Sindh as over 30 lakhs acres lands were cultivated in the command area of Nara canal in a season. The supplied discharge of water in Nara canal head was gradually declining as some day’s back 11500 water discharge was being supplied in Nara canal head but during some days gradually its supply was decreasing and on Oct 13, 10800 cusec was the water discharged in Nara canal head. There was required of 16000 cusec of water discharge in Nara canal head for proper sowing of wheat and other crops of Rabi season. Report said that there was need of certified wheat seed and required quantity of water for cultivation of wheat but there is shortage of water still in tail end districts Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Tharparkar and Sanghar as result wheat sowing will be adversely affected while still shortage of certified seed of wheat persisting in the area as result without availability of certified seed of wheat its average production will be decreased than last year. When contacted Yar Mohammad Khaskheli , district officer agriculture extension Mirpurkhas said that certified wheat seed will be arrived here till Oct 15 after which that will be distributed among the growers. He hoped that required quantity of water will be available this year in the region to sow the wheat crop as there were early crops in district Mirpurkhas than other parts of the province. He further said that his department had already launched grow more wheat campaign in the district and under this campaign pamphlets were being distributed among the growers and knowledgeable seminars were being held at union council level in the district to apprise the growers to adopt modern technology to cultivate wheat crop, use of proper pesticide and fertilizers and procedure to give the water to crops. He advised the growers to take benefit of seminars and sow more than wheat crop at their lands.
