MIRPURKHAS Jan 30. An accused of issuing threats of kidnapping for ransom was arrested by Digri police while court granted his 14 days police remand on Friday. Report said that Ghulam Mohammad Soomro, general manager Al Abbas sugar mill Mirwah Gorchani has lodged the case under section 386, 506(ii), 341 and 34 PPC with Digri police station accusing that Nishaat Nohani, Ashique Keeryo and Badal Keeryo have demanded him RS 10 lakhs otherwise threatened to kidnap him and killing . He further said that when he went to sector of the mill at 10 Mile Mori above accused reached there and forced him to pay demand money otherwise they would kidnapped him . He added that he took time for paying money and reached to mill. Digri police carried out raids and apprehended accused Nishaat Nohani and produced him in the court of civil Judge and judicial magistrate Digri taluka which granted his 14 days police remand. While raids are continued to nab the other two nominated accused by the Digri police.

MIRPURKHAS Jan 30. A meeting of different social workers was held here on Sunday presided by Syed Zahir Shah that formed a NGO namely “Global development partner organization”GDPO. Meeting decided that its constitutional committee will be setup in its next meeting to be held within a week. Meeting discussed that many areas of the district Mirpurkhas as well as other districts including Tharparkar are still far flung areas and deprived of basic facilities while there was need to be more work to rehabilitate those backward areas. Meeting further decided that seminars and workshops would be held to those far flung areas for creating the awareness of masses of those areas sothat they could be developed on self help basis. Those attended the meeting senior journalist Saleem Azad, Sohrab Lashari, Dr Sarwan Kumar, Journalist Qaim Solangi, Jam Samejo, Journalist Sajjad Rind, Qamaruddin Qureshi, Journalist Afaq Ahmed Khan Advocate, councilor Haleema Baloch and Syed Ghulam Nabi Shah. 

MIRPURKHAS Jan 30. Protest rally was taken out by dozens of women belong to Walkart area, Satellite town here on Saturday from railway station chowk to protest against the registration of false narcotic case and arresting of tailor master by excise police Mirpurkhas . Women carried banners and placards led by Zeenat Baloch raised slogans against the excise police Mirpurkhas. They marched through main road and reached at local press club. Where they staged protest demonstration demanding the authorities to withdraw the false case and release the arrested tailor master Zahid Rajput. They told the newsmen that assistant excise and taxation officer Mirpurkhas Farooque Bajwa carried out raid at the house of tailor master Zahid Rajput at Walkart area and apprehended him, while they accused that excise police lodged the false case of narcotic in which shows the nabbing of Zahid Rajput and recovery of one and half Kilogramme Charas from his possession and further shows as absconder to his cousin Shahid Baloch. Meanwhile addressing at the joint press conference Noor Bibi, mother of accused Shahid Baloch and Nasreen, mother and Abida, wife of arrested accused Zahid Rajput have strongly condemned the arresting and registration of false narcotic case against Zahid Rajput and Shahid Baloch. They alleged that Farooque Bajwa , excise officer had demanded of RS 2 lakhs as bribe from them but incase of failure to pay bribe, he along with heavy contingents of police conducted raid and picked up Zahid Rajput and implicated him and his cousen in false narcotic case , while he was going to perform Jumma prayer. They accused that police made atrocities with women by forcibly entering into their homes and broken the cloths of sister’s daughter of Zahid Rajput. They further accused that officials of excise police also looted 5 Tola gold ornaments and cash. They demanded the Sindh chief minister and Governor Sindh to take immediate notice order a higher level inquiry and suspend the concern assistant excise and taxation officer Farooque Bajwa without any delay.

MIRPURKHAS Jan 30. Provincial general secretary of Muslim League (Q) Haleem Adil Shaikh has said that our opinion is quite clear over NRO and we had not allowed approving it from parliament in his government tenure. He was talking to newsmen here on Friday night at residence of provincial vice president Basheer Johri following burial of senior PML (N) leader comrade Abdul Majeed Rajput. He said that president PML (Q) Chohadhry Shujaat Hussain had cleared to prime minister during his recently meeting with him that his party will not support NRO. He said that reorganization will be of PML(Q) in Mirpurkhas division and in district Mirpurkhas and said that benefit parast would not be allowed to come forward and will priority to honest , sincere and hardworking workers. He said that his party will take massive part in local body election and we are an effective power in Sindh province. He announced Haji Mohammad Saleem as president PML (Q) Mirpurkhas city and Sajid Ahmed Johri as district president youth wing PML (Q) Mirpurkhas.

MIRPURKHAS Jan 30. Central executive committee of Sindh para medical staff welfare association has called upon the government to ensure ending of receiving service charges in government hospitals from poor patients. Meeting was held here on Saturday presided by its president Nazeer Ahmed Detho. Meeting expressed concern over the receiving of service charges from poor patients instead to provide medical treatment facilities and medicines free of cost. Meeting lauded the decision of secretary health for providing all dues of employees at the day of his retirement. Those attended the meeting including Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, Nazeer Qureshi, Akhtar Abbasi, Imamuddin Soomro, Ghulam Mohammad Kumbhar, Umer Dahri etc.
