MIRPURKHAS July 11. Commissioner Mirpurkhas division Ghulam Hussain Memon has said that aims to hold Mango exhibition at Mirpurkhas was to export more than local Mango varieties and to encourage the local growers. He was speaking as chief guest at the closing ceremony of 47th National Mango and summer fruits festival 2012 Mirpurkhas held here on Tuesday night at Mirpurkhas Gymkhana club that was attended by growers, government officials, notables etc. He said that district administration was succeeded to encourage local growers as we organized the Mango festival in befitting manner this year also. He lamented that owing to last year flood, 30 to 40 percent mango orchards had been devastated despite this we succeeded to held the Mango festival this year also with the help of owners of Mango orchards. He said that he had been recommended the secretary agriculture to make functional the modern food technology laboratory and complete the construction of Seminar hall in Sindh Horticulture research institute Mirpurkhas. Chairman organizing committee Anwer Gondal said that there was need to get real aims of this annual Mango festival. He further said that owing to last year flood mostly mango orchards and Nurseries had been destroyed and urged the authorities to provide funds to Sindh Horticulture research Institute Mirpurkhas for preparing more than Nurseries sothat local growers could cultivate their Mango orchards. He lamented that Sindh government had been imposed ban on irrigation water for Mango orchards while called the government to lift ban and ensure correctly use of irrigation water to end the water shortage in tail end areas. He said that in South Asia, above institute was prepared Qalam of Mangoes in large quantity and of different varieties of mangoes. Later, Chief Guest Commissioner Ghulam Hussain Memon and Chairman Anwer Gondal distributed the cash awards among the successful growers of different varieties of Mangoes.
MIRPURKHAS July 11. A rally was took out under the banner of population department Mirpurkhas here on Wednesday from civil hospital to local press club to mark world population day while lady health workers, Para medical staff, doctors and workers of NGOs participated . Participators carrying banners and placards, marched through main roads and reached at local press club, where addressing at the participators, deputy district population officer Nasrullah Kumhar said that health of mother remain good when time was given in birth of children and such care of children and their preparation was made in proper manner. He said that planning was being made by population department to control the growing population while civil society and media should pay their role in this regard.
MIRPURKHAS July 11. Hundreds of people of Christian community as well as other minorities held demonstration at Tandoadam Naka near Ring road here on Wednesday to protest against police failure to arrest the absconder accused of murder case landlord Faisal Kachehlo. Led by Pir Zubair Jan Sarhandi and Sarwan Bheel, carrying banners and placards they raised slogans against SSP Mirpurkhas and ex SHO Kot Ghulam Mohammad police station Inayat Zardari. Enraged protestors also blocked the ring road and burnt also tyres, while they demanded the government to take notice of police failure to nab the nominated accused of murder case Faisal Kachehlo. Pir Zubair Jan Sarhandi, Sarwan Bheel and others talking to media men accused that SSP Mirpurkhas was supporting the influential landlord Faisal Kachehlo who had been brutally killed the innocent youth Asif Masih alias Shera at kachehlo farm some days back in the limit of KGM police station but alleged that owing to support of SSP Mirpurkhas and ex SHO Inayat KGM Inayat Zardari, nominated accused was not taken into custody and provided them opportunities to flee from the region . They accused that above absconder accused had been purchased the local police and demanded the higher police authorities to ensure arresting of the above influential accused Faisal Kachehlo without any delay by deployment of impartial police parties and punish him exemplary. Later they dispersed peacefully.
MIRPURKHAS July 11. Rainfall hit the Mirpurkhas and its outskirts areas here on Tuesday night as result temperature was decreased. Report said that rainfall remained continue for an hour as result rainy water was stagnated at the various main roads and streets of the city. Power supply was suspended as the first drop of the rain fell down while power was restored after 7 hours disturbing the citizens . It may be recalled that severe hot spell was continued here for last 15 days and as the rainfall begun children and youths came out of their houses in happiness while local farmers have expressed their happiness as they were facing already acute shortage of irrigation water causing damages of their standed crops. Meanwhile, director Nara canal area water board Ghulam Mustafa Ujjan has been setup 24 hours rain emergency center at wireless control room Jamrao division office due to expected heavy rainfall and deployed also staff there.
