MIRPURKHAS June 6. District government Mirpurkhas has been cancelled the prize distribution ceremony of 45th national annual Mango and summer fruit exhibition 2010 Mirpurkhas to be held here on Sunday at 4 PM in the premises of Sindh agriculture research institute Mirpurkhas owing to continue intermittent rainfall that had been disturbed the all arrangements of the prize distribution ceremony, sports competitions, musical show, Meena Bazaar etc. However, last day on Sunday here of the Mango exhibition, thousands of people including women and children enjoyed with Mango festival in Shaheed Benazeer Bhutto Mango exhibition hall that was central air condition. Over a hundred varieties of the mangoes and other summer fruits were displayed in the festival. It may be recalled that there was expected to be chief guest Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah of the prize distribution ceremony of the mango festival but a day before, his programme was cancel to visit Mirpurkhas and Provincial minister for revenue Jam Mehtab was to be chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony of the Mango exhibition but unfortunately intermittent rainfall disturbed the all arrangements to compel the administration to cancel the prize distribution ceremony, Meena Bazaar, musical programme etc.
MIRPURKHAS June 6. A truck driver was shot dead by unknown armed car occupants at Hyderabad Mirpurkhas road across the bus terminal few kilometers away from here, while the armed killers managed to flee from the spot in presence of police here on Sunday . Report said that A truck was on its way that a car was coming from front side which driver tried to get the side for crossing but during this car driver came out of the car and suddenly shot and injured to the truck driver Mohammad Shafique Arain, 26, resident of Bhansinghabad. The armed killers managed to escape from the spot in their car in presence of police. Learnt that involved car was without number plate. The injured was rushed to emergency of civil hospital where doctors provided him first aid while the concerned surgeon was reached late in emergency, later doctors referred to LMUH Hyderabad due to his precarious condition. During this dozens of people in civil hospital raised slogans against the hospital administration and accused that surgeon Jawahar Lal was missing and reached late at the time as result injured condition was deteriorated. The injured was on his way to Hyderabad that he was died of his injuries in the way near Ratanabad. His body was brought again at civil hospital after which his relatives and dozens of truck drivers and transporters taken his body to bus terminal where hundreds of people were already gathered and they forced to close the shops and petrol pumps and CNG service centers in the protest. Protesters blocked the main roads to keep the body at the main Hyderabad Mirpurkhas road and held demonstration to protest against above surgeon for his negligence. They burnt also tyres and raised slogans against the administration of the civil hospital and demanding the police to arrest the involved culprits. Heavy contingents of police were reached at the spot to control the situation. EDO health Mirpurkhas Shafqat Dahri reached at the spot and assured the protesters that he has been ordered the inquiry into the allegation of negligence of the surgeon and he will take legal action if he was found guilty in the inquiry report. Later, protesters dispersed peacefully. Murder case was not lodged with Old Mirpur police station till filing of the news. When contacted civil surgeon Dr Asghar Arain said that Dr Ali Gohar was on duty in the emergency ward while within 20 minutes on call surgeon Jawaharlal was reached at the hospital who provided first aid to injured and referred to LMUH Hyderabad. He rejected the allegations of any negligence of the doctors. While, report said that EDO health Mirpurkhas has been suspended surgeon Dr Jawahar Lal and Dr Ali Gohar with immediate affect.
 

MIRPURKHAS June 6. Rainfall hit the Mirpurkhas and its outskirts areas here on Saturday late night as result temperature was decreased while people have taken sigh of relief from long spell of heat wave. Growers and landlords have also expressed their happiness over the rainfall as lower Sindh particularly in Sindh province has been facing acute shortage of water since 5 months . Rainfall was continued intermittently as result water was inundated in the low lying areas. However staffs of TMA Mirpurkhas were alert and busy to drain out the stagnant rainy water from the main roads and streets. Different sports progammes under 45th national annual Mango and summer fruits festival Mirpurkhas 2010 were disturbed also due to rainfall while district administration has been cancelled the Meena bazaar and musical programme due to rainfall. District administrator Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon has visited the different areas of the city and examined the arrangements for draining out the rainy water on Sunday. He said that on this occasion to drain out the rainy water at the time from low lying areas also sothat citizens might not be disturbed. He visited the areas including Hameed Pura colony, Bakra Peri, Main disposal Pumping station, Toorabad road, S.L.D pumping station and sub bridge pumping station. He directed the administrator TMA Mirpurkhas Abdul Wahab Abbasi to keep in working condition the generator and pumping machines if anywhere those were lying faulty. He further directed to ensure presence of all the municipal staff during rainfall.

MIRPURKHAS June 2. Ahmed Khan Leghari, resident of Village Garho Sadar , taluka Chamber, district Tandoallahyar has said that notable doctor Abdul Jabbar Leghari was implicated in murder case as he had been helped him in dispute with influential landlord Umer Bughio over agriculture land, while above influential landlord was not taking influence of MNAs, MPAs and other political personalities. Speaking at the press conference at local press club here on Wednesday, he said that there was dispute between him and landlord Haji Mohammad Umer Bughio over 24 acres agriculture land and accused that landlord Umer Bughio was making efforts to occupy that land, during this Dr Abdul Jabbar Leghari helped him , while he said that on July 15, 2009 suddenly Panchomal Meghwar, peasant of landlord Haji Mohammad Umer Bughio was murdered in village Ghulam Haider Shah, taluka Jhando Mari, district Tandoallahyar by unknown persons but he added that due to enmity innocent Dr Abdul Jabbar Leghari and Allahdino Khizri were implicated in the murder case on the behest of landlord Haji Mohammad Umer Bughio. He termed it a big victimization with above innocents. He said that inquiry was ordered by concerned police officer to crime branch police Hyderabad which revealed Dr Abdul Jabbar Leghari as innocent during its investigation which challan was submitted in the sessions court Tandoallahyrar. He demanded the president, prime minister, Chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chohadhry, provincial police officer, Sindh chief minister, RPO Hyderabad and other authorities to order impartial inquiry into this murder to ascertain the real killers of this murder to provide the justice to innocents.

MIRPURKHAS May 31. Chairman Farmer organization council FOC Sindh Javed Ahmed Junejo has called the world bank to stop the funds for its project “water improvement sector programme” for Sindh which allocation is RS 17 crors and 50 lakh dollars unless the irrigation authorities were not solve the grievances of the abadgars and threatened to taken out protest rally, holding protest demonstration and staging sit in in front of local press club on June 3rd , 2010 if the authorities did not improve the water supply in the command area of Nara canal. He was giving briefing to the local newsmen here on Monday after presiding the meeting of FOC to review the acute water shortage in Nara canal tail despite releasing the 14000 cusec water discharge in the Nara head. He said that WISP project of World Bank was launched for repairs and rehabilitation of the distributaries and allocated handsum amount in this regard. He deplored that under rotation programme the distributaries were being supplied irrigation water a week in the month when water was being supplied 5000 cusec discharge in the Nara head but now after improvement of water as supplying the 14000 cusec water in the Nara head but same rotation programme was being made due to corruption of the irrigation officials as they were supplied the irrigation water to particular channels after receiving alleged heavy bribe. He accused that irrigation officers were distributing the irrigation water injudiciously as result acute shortage of water persisting in the command area of the Nara canal. He accused that distributaries were being supplied regularly water belong to political MNAs and MPAs. He said that Sindh irrigation and drainage authority had been formed farmer organizations but no irrigation officer and SIDA officials were giving any attention towards FOs as result we are making struggle for their rights and making efforts to save the agriculture sector in command area of Nara canal. He alleged that SIDA had been taken decisions by passing the FOs and accused that officers are getting postings in SIDA by paying alleged heavy bribe and involved in corruption. He called upon the government to order the high level inquiry of funds provided to SIDA by World Bank and other institutions from its formation uptill now. He further demanded the government to order the impartial inquiry into the funds provided to irrigation department for desilting purpose of the Nara canal. He strongly condemned the XEN Thar canal for stoppage of water supply in the water channels of farmer organizations and termed it victimization with FOs. He urged the government to suspend the XEN Thar division without any delay and demanded the inquiry be made against provided RS 5 and half crors rupees to Thar division for annual desilting purpose. He demanded the government to immediately remove the rotation programme in Nara canal system , cancel the shifting of 2 lakh acres land of Rohri canal to Nara canal, cancellation of newly approved direct out let, moduels and minors in the interest of agriculture sector. Earlier, hundreds of abadgars belong to districts Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Khairpur, Benazeerabad, Sanghar, Umerkot, Tandoallahyar and Tharparkar have participated in the meeting of FOC , presided by its chairman Javed Ahmed Junejo to review the present acute artificial shortage of water in the command area of Nara canal. Those abadgars and landlords participated the meeting including Haji Abdul Ghafoor Maher, Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Mohammad Hassan Mangrio, Gul Siddique Pathan, Syed Altaf Shah, Liaqat Arain, Liaqat Kaim Khani, Hassan Ali Kalro, Akbar Mangrio, Saleem Malkani and Ch Niaz. 

MIRPURKHAS May 31. Scores of government contractors under the banner of government contractor welfare association Mirpurkhas have held demonstration outside the local press club here on Monday to protest against not payment due money to government contractors on behalf of government. Protesters led by patron Abdul Ghaffar Rajput, Abdul Salam and Arif, carried banners and placards demanding the government to pay their dues without any delay. Speaking at the protesters Abdul Ghaffar Rajput said that tenders were called of rupees billions under Annual development programme in April 2009 in education works provincial department in the province and provincial ministers had been laid foundation stone of the works at different places  but deplored that Sindh government despite receiving damand did not issue the funds of the development schemes in June 2009. He lamented that even government did not allocate the funds for development works in budget 2009 and further officers had been taken construction work from contractors of RS 5 crors in the district Mirpurkhas . He said that contractors were facing financial crisis owing to non payment of their millions of rupees. He demanded the Sindh chief minister to take immediate notice and ensure immediate payment of dues of the contractors without any delay to give justice them.
